Went to a pub in Stockport where Amstel was £3.75 which was a pleasing throwback. The sort of place you could buy stolen meat off a bloke who wanders in and the dyke behind the bar has definitely headbutted rowdy punters before. The Sir Robert Peel if you ever find yourself in the area. Following day in a not particularly trendy part of Manchester it was close to London prices. Then Burnley cricket club three pints for £13 with post-match prices advertised at £3/pint. Huge place, short wait, sport on, reasonable looking barmaids by Burnley standards.
Whenever I go past one it seems busy. Cheap alcohol and food ... makes an affordable night out for people and is pretty child friendly. Can't stand the owner but some of the criticism about those using it can be snobby
Got an Uber from Manchester so avoided the town. All I saw was the cricket club and that I’d recommend.
