Saturday sees Newcastle return to Portman Road for the first time since 2017 as they face the Tractor Boys.

It's a non-televised 3pm start in the Premier League and all 3,000 away section tickets were sold, with the away ticket transfer scheme in operation. Details hereNB: Portman Road is a cashless stadium including the match programme sellers on the streets outside.

Team:
Sean Longstaff will be available after serving a one game Carabao Cup ban but Joelinton is suspended.Fabian Schar and Sandro Tonali remain one caution away from automatic one game PL suspensions.

ITFC:
Town's top scorer Liam Delap serves a one game ban after collecting his fifth caution of the season against Wolves on Saturday. The striker has scored six of the 16 PL goals his side have registered so far.

George Hirst misses out through injury.

Kieran McKenna's side are yet to win on home ground in the Premier League this season, losing four times and drawing the other four.

Their most recent top-flight success at Portman Road came April 2002 when a Town side including Titus Bramble defeated Boro 1-0 with a Darren Bent goal.

Referee: Stuart Attwell - the Warwickshire-based official hasn't taken charge of a Newcastle game since the 1-0 home win over Arsenal in November 2023.

Attwell's last Toon away game was the 8-0 success at Sheffield United during September 2023.

Seems the teams around us (12) will be dropping points this weekend so massive game to try and drag ourselves up the table with 3 points. Need to put a string of results together between now and the end of the year!

Things are looking much improved so there's plenty to be optimistic about.

This has to be a win..no ****ty draw or defeat.

We needed 3 wins this week, done the first two, have to complete the job if we are serious about europe.

At least the Longstaff stat lovers can bugger off now. We just don't have the talent or depth to keep shuffling our best players out of position and football starts with getting your best XI on the pitch, in their best positions. It's the same reason why England never win a tournament, too obsessed with "accommodating".

We now seem a lot more settled, a lot happier and have the players across two elevens to make the right in game changes without upsetting the rhythm. We still need a plan b for when plan a doesn't work, but I doubt we'll ever get one. We will also never move from 4-3-3 whilst Howe is here.

If he drops Tonali for Longstaff..

Nah, I think he's going to use his best XI most weeks now and try and use the 5 subs better.

Pope/Dubs; Liv/Trips, Schar/Krafth, Botman/Burn, Hall/Kelly; Tonali/Miley, Bruno/Longstaff, Joelinton/Willock; Murphy/Almiron, Isak/Osula, Gordon/Barnes.

In that we can take 9 subs who would be the two from the list above to drop out for you?
