They do need a left winger so possibly, just not sure he's the player they need to take them from title challengers to winners especially at his wage level

If it's about football the likes of Brighton, West Ham, Brentford would seem like obvious locations, if he wants to keep his current level in wages he will very likely go abroad, because nobody in England is giving him anything close to £300k a week.

I think only the Saudi clubs would offer him them wages.

I would love to see him drop a level to try and reignite his career, one of them clubs you mentioned would be great

Brighton's biggest salary is £87k (Kadioglu) according to capology, so they're not paying him more than, let's say £120k. I assume West Ham will go a little higher than that, It really depends how far he's willing to come down, I doubt he'll get more than £150k in England now unless a top club come in for him, which I doubt.

No one else a will pay his wages now. He is 27, appears to be in decline, didn't seem bothered about taking a £600k+ fine to go boozing for a weekend and usually looks as if he's just found a turd in his shoe.

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/24801597.timothee-pembele-fed-up-sunderland-summer-exit/

TIMOTHEE Pembélé says he was "fed up" at Sunderland and needed no time to think about a return to France when he learnt of Le Havre's interest in the summer.

Pembele joined Sunderland from PSG in the summer of 2023 but endured a difficult first season on Wearside, making only three Championship starts and eight appearances in total.

He didn't feature in Regis Le Bris' plans after the head coach's summer arrival and was told he'd be allowed to leave on loan.

And the 22-year-old admits he was pleasantly surprised when he learnt of transfer interest from Ligue 1. Having failed to establish himself at Sunderland, Pembele says he didn't expect to get a move to the French top tier....

He said: “I really didn’t think that HAC would come looking for me. I was in second division in England, I wasn’t playing, and I thought I’d go back to Ligue 2.

“I have confidence in myself, I know I have the ability to play in Ligue 1, but in today’s football, when a player doesn’t play, he’s quickly forgotten.

“When my agent told me that Le Havre were interested in me, I said straight out, ‘Let’s go! I didn’t look to see where I stood in the pecking order, I just said to myself, I’m going, I’m fighting, and we’ll see what happens!”

Le Havre are managed by Didier Digard, who was loosely linked with Sunderland in the summer. Pembele has a good relationship with the Frenchman, who briefly played for Middlesbrough early in his career.

He said: “In the end, it took a bit of time. I signed in the last few days of the window, and the coach gave me a warm welcome, telling me that I needed to get my rhythm back.

“So, I played one match with the reserves. In England, I played quite a few games with the reserves, and I was fed up with playing with younger players. But the coach explained to me that I had to play 90 minutes to get into a rhythm. After that, it was one thing after another.”

Pembele's loan spell is due to expire at the end of the season and there's no option for Le Havre to make the deal permanent, though the clubs will discuss the possibility if there's interest in doing the deal at both ends.

Trai Hume is the only natural right-back on Sunderland's books but that didn't prevent the Black Cats from letting Pembele move on in the summer.

Self preservation from him. Aside from Leeds away last year at RWB, he never showed enough, another that struggled with the pace and physicality like Ba and Rusyn. Those ‘younger players’ he’s fed up of playing with all have a far superior attitude and the likes of him Hemir and Burstow were more of a hindrance to a strong u21 side last year who reached a final when they were all eventually dropped.

One thing I will say about Pembele was that he could put a great cross in. Very impressed with his delivery from the handful of times he got into those areas.

Too bad he had the defensive awareness of a badger

no idea if badgers are very aware or not but for this case. They’re not

He’s not exactly pulling up trees there either, him and Ekwah sat in the relegation zone, sympathise with him a little he had Hume and for a while Huggins infront of him so was always going to be difficult coming back from his injury, another from that summer window we’ll probably move on next year

Think he was pretty cheap / free anyway no? Plus someone in France will take a punt he’s young and from PSG

Yeah don’t think cost much was worth the gamble, won’t be a big loss financially or on the pitch

Agree with the last bit, I don’t think Rusyn was give the chance to play his preferred position, I wish the lad good luck for the future.

Can play on the wing, probably best as a wingback but has had some very good games at RM

He has game changing pace, I also think he could be a RB in the longer term as well

They won't sell him to us anyway
