Genuinely think this guy has done more long-term damage to the club than the Allams ever did.

When the Allams sold us, we were debt-free, had the largest FFP headroom in the league, two very talented assets in Lewis-Potter and Greaves that would be later sold for tens of millions and we were sat 19th in the Championship in our first season back under Grant McCann with a fairly limited squad of players. Not great but plodding along.

As of today, we are bottom of the Championship following a 7th-placed finish last season, a chaotic and half-arsed squad rebuild after losing almost all of our crucial players and goal-scorers from last season, the vice-chairman has left mid-season under mysterious circumstances, there are rumours of Acun under investigation for financial irregularities and violations in Turkey and now a new manager is expected to work wonders picking up the mess of Acun’s making.

Serious questions have to be asked of this guy. I think relegation is looking more likely than not and do we really want Acun as an owner moving forward?

I think you're seeing too much darkness.
Money was spent on the transfers, the manager didn't work out and the team are poor. It's one season. More of a ****-up/eye off the ball regarding the transfer period and involvement of a manager who didn't bring any positivity. Hopefully, the rebuild begins now, better players brought in and a season ending escaping relegation.

Many people will jump at you for this. "Allams said we could die when we want" "Allam's asset stripped us" Yes they did do all of that. But, atleast at the beginning until they couldn't buy the stadium or change our name they were decent. They did a lot for us and the City. What has Acun actually achieved? He's taking us backwards and very rapidly with mistake after mistake after mistake in every aspect of owning us. He's completely and utterly useless at this.

The perfect football club owner doesn’t exist. They’ve all got their issues, whether it’s ego or financial etc.

In our case, our owner appears to care about whether we do well, turns up at games, values the relationship with fans. Is willing to invest. All positives in my opinion.

Yes he’s made some baffling decisions, seems to interfere a bit to much on the football side and financial rumours are concerning, if they are true. But on balance, I’m ok with him staying - there are a lot worse potential owners out there

I would agree with you but every summer has been a rebuild of some sort under Acun and every transfer window has had serious structural issues.

First summer window under Acun we had Arveladze as head coach and signed a lot of players on big wages for big transfer fees, many of whom were injury-prone or lacking fitness to begin with.

Last season we relied heavily on loan players in both the summer and winter transfer windows. Some would say Acun threw all his eggs in one basket in January and that led to us losing almost all our crucial first-team players and having a huge squad rebuild under a new manager. That squad rebuild wasn’t done early and efficiently but dragged on and on until we finally started doing business in the last two weeks playing catch-up.

There’s not been a single transfer window under Acun’s ownership that has resulted in long-term stability for the club.

Allam had £400 million and gave Bruce tens of millions to spend- at one stage the debt was £100 million - you can't possibly compare that with Acun as he only has a fraction of Allams money - when Allam took over he oaid off the debts - Acun paid the equivalent meaning Allam got his money back - not forgetting he also took millions in interest payments to service the money he loaned to the club - whether you agree with the layers Acun has brought to the club, he can't be accused of not putting his hands in his pockets

We also got relegated to Division 1 (Div 3 in old money) under the Alams

I also believe his latest managerial appointment is a good one ( pattern left field good, left field, good..)

He's made mistakes obviously, as others his heart appears in the right place, his judgement / recruitment at times have not.

I doubt he can afford to loose money and **** this up.
Also remember how long it took the Alams to sell the club and just look at Reading.

It's going to be a long season and we all want to succeed / survive this season.

Then his fraudulent mate comes in and is a complete shambles. The recruitment of players was completely abysmal! Shotta sacked Rosenior saves us and he builds a team that looks promising! Acun gambles in January massively when it seemed pointless. Why not consolidate in the Championship with the team we had and spend this summer? But, nope we have another historical rebuild bring in another fraud in Walter. More disastrous late recruitment and now we're here. Acun’s legacy. Is this...

Agree with most, but the gamble to push in Jan last year wasn't pointless at all. The push was exactly what he should have done in the position we were in, he gave LR all the tools needed to cement our place in the playoffs. If acun had done nothing in that situation he would have been crucified. But as I say.... I agree with the rest

My main thoughts on it are we were competing against a freakish Ipswich, a great team in Leicester, Southampton, Leeds, West Brom, Boro and Sunderland. Imo the push was completely pointless and playing real life football manager. Many of those new signings he made minus Carvalho hardly showed anything.

IMO Acun bought the club and spent the money to boost his image in the game so that he could get onto the board at Fener.

He may have been let down by Tan, but he appointed him. Acun admitted in the last Q&A that he'd stepped away from us to focus on his new Fenerbahce job and he was surprised at how difficult it was for the brain team to get players in.

I don't really blame the guy for prioritising the club he supports, but I think he's bored of us now and we're in the position we're in, due to his inaction.

I think Acuns intentions are good. He has a fair list of mistakes now which he's even talked about and taken responsibility for, but every step of the way he's tried to learn and make changes. I'd rather be part of a bumpy journey with Acun then one with an owner who is unambitious and or just sees some sort of financial investment opportunity.
