Lovely little read. I often think Paddy might be one of those players that needs an arm round the shoulders and to be told he is a match winner. I got the impression Mowbray did that with him. Sounds like he loves being here, and is as critical of himself as supporters can be. I hope the goal lightens the weight on his shoulders a little and he can really have a strong second half of the season. Half a dozen assits and a hand full of goals could a huge difference to us.

Agree. Also though, you get from the club shared content that Paddy is also a massive part of the squad amongst the lads.

Takes a lot of different characters to make a good squad. He has a lot of experience now, and I hope he is a voice in the dressing room and a role model for the young lads trying to make it. In particular I hope he is sharing the experience of going to a big club too soon :emoticon-0103-cool:

I fancy us here. Bit of a whim maybe, but I was overly disappointed against Bristol. We had a clear pen waved away, an error cost the goal and we still might have pinched a win. I hope Roberts is flying and I hope Adil has had a chat with Regis to say I am here and let me prove a few wrong (me included).

I would like to see a change. Watson may force it. Mayenda more central would be my ask. Does that mean Isidor plays left? Possibly better for him long term as his back to goal play and movement in the box isnt that of a number 9 for me. Cirkin back in if fit. ONien in for Ballard. One more game for Rigg, or do we rest him. Connolly may be the shout but I really see him as an out and out 9. Do we see Regis giving Adil his chance in this one? Would be quite a call but I wouldnt criticise him for it personally. Would leave Neil a bit more exposed but his current form might encourage Regis to take a risk. Decisions for the coaches to make.

We have to just loosen up a little imo.

We play ‘too well’ at times, too much to plan, and therefore become predictable. We need to get in and around their box quickly before they have the chance to settle.

There’s nothing wrong with sometimes playing it long or sending in ‘Summerbee’ crosses. We’re allowing a massed defence to get into position too often then putting the ball into a crowded area.

We need to use our pace and unpredictability more often. The reason we have so many unsuccessful shots is that we’re faced with a brick wall more often than not.

Roberts needs, imo, to forget beating his man every time and get balls in early …

… which, of course, means the opposite winger, CF and attacking midfield need to be flying in.

Let’s not look at results on face value but performances

last four games we probably could have had a win in all of them, we were definitely the better team in all games bar the second half against Bristol city.

we are not playing poor and even though we’re in bad form we are still a team nobody likes playing and a team hanging around the right end of the table,

Swansea are another good side, as to be honest most sides are in this division.

however their tendency to play a high line can be a weakness. On our day we are simply better than these.

im going for a 2-0 away win to keep the good performances flowing.

if we’re talking teamsheet id like to see maybe this as an option

Patto

Hume
Mepham
O9
Cirkin

neil
Jobe
AA

Roberts
Isidor
Mayenda

With their high line a feel a creative midfielder is a must and for me AA is our only creative midfielder. Plus Rigg looks knackered at the minute and unless he feels 1000% ready to play I’d give him a break

I wouldn’t be against having Isidor wide for a couple games, by that I mean Mayenda isn’t natural out there where as Isidor can be. But for this game I’d like Isidor central due to their high line

Started against Gateshead the other week, no idea how he played mind, thought he looked okay against millwall showed enough to suggest he can contribute from the bench atleast

I didnt realise he'd come on against Millwall.

I'm going with this under the assumptions Watson is out and after Roberts comments post Bristol about the three game week he will be rested.
