Was the result last Saturday that unexpected? I thought we saw an improved performance and competed with them, not the total hammering we feared before the change was made. I think it's harsh to write Dawson off based on that game. Of course we want the new man in, but I wouldn't be dispirited going into the Blackburn game just because of last week's result. I think we've already made the most important change which was getting rid of the gloom surrounding Tim Walter. We'll get a performance against Blackburn.

Unexpected,no,not to me and I said so prior to the game.
I didn't see much in the way of any improvement.We got another footballing lesson and we added to our back catalogue of schoolboy errors.I didn't write Dawson off based on any game,the owner did.
Yeah,hopefully we do get a performance against Blackburn but rest assured,any silly errors will be pounced upon.

I noticed that Daws mentioned something this week about spending a lot of time getting information into the players, which I presume meant that they were trying to get them to play in a different style/system to how they had been under Walter. If that is the case, that would suggest that he purposely didn’t change very much for that one game because they had so little time.
Also, assuming there hasn’t been any input from Selles yet, is it possible that they’re going to have to potentially play three different systems over three consecutive games?

Interestingly, enough, I've heard comments like this from two so-called City supporters only in the past few days. Comments like: 'well we're only a small club, whose never done anything of note and will never do anything in the future.' and 'Acun has lost interest and is going to walk away from it, leave us in administration, until its bought by some bloke who owns a garage or something down Anlaby Road, and we're back at the bottom of League two.'
Makes one think, if they know something I don't. But these opinions/views are in some respects common and reflects the city in many ways, which is no doubt why we're full of glory hunting plastic Scousers and Mancs.
We're a decent size club with a good fanbase, better than loads of clubs in the country. Just needs a spark or two to get back in the premier league, though there's loads, out there, who hate the thought of being back in the top league.
We missed the boat to some extent, when we went up in 16/17 it was just about the last time I can recall the league being reasonably open and welcoming to promoted clubs. Almost ever since, the three promoted have more often than not struggled and gone down. Now it's just so bloody tough to even compete. If you can manage it though and stay up a season it's almost as good as if you had been up for 10 seasons. Look at Forest for instance.

Forest, Brighton are good examples. Forest and Brighton are a similar size to us and are doing okay for now. It will be interesting to see where they are in 5 years. Bournemouth are far smaller than Hull City, but punching way way above their weight. Good luck to them..

I prefer to remember the 'early' days of the Allam investment in this club when Steve Bruce was here. Our transfer record smashed time and time again and promotion to the PL achieved, twice, but that seems to be forgotten about, after the old fella died.
Who said anything about invested well? The point was the money from sales has gone back into the club, spent well or not, it hasn't been pocketed by Acun to fund a new jet.
You prefer to remember the conveniently good times where they lucked into a good manager who took us up. No one's forgetting it, just pointing out that after the Hull Tigers debacle they shut up shop.

Fully agree, I never thought I'd see those times as a city fan and I definitely didn't think we'd ever see those times when I was training on the pitches behind boothferry park or running up and down the south stand.... I'm not sure we'll ever see those heights again, FA Cup finals, European games etc, but we'll always have the memories

As a family they must regret trying to change the name and for the rest of us, what might have been.
