Good bit of international standard defending he showed last week mate <ok>

In response to the OP, I see 2 possibilities

    1) He would laugh just as much if that Swedish **** Larsson had his leg bitten off by an alligator, in which case he is a complete and utter sick bellend

    2) (and more likely) he's just as much of a ****ing ****** as his post seems to suggest.

That was the first serious mistake he has made all season and if it were not for that, we may well have been sitting here with Steve Roger Bruce still in charge. You see, even when Wes brown makes a mistake the final product turns to gold! :emoticon-0167-beer:

I'm intrigued to know the second reason?

Fair enough. I still think anyone who has the adult ability to speak rationally about football will admit that it is a travesty that Taylor has never once been called up for England.

For me, there are two reasons to thank Bruce. Wes Brown and the 0-3 result/performance at Stamford Bridge.

There have been a lot of good centre backs over the years... It's not a surprise to me that Taylor wasn't ever called up the the senior squad. I don't think he is as good as a lot of Newcastle fans think. I remember a couple of years ago Taylor was considered a liability by quite a few fans of NUFC.

There is a fair argument that he needs a defender with ball playing abilities like Coloccini along side him. However I think when you look at some of th eplayers who have got a run out for England in the past, Taylor's name simply should have been among them.

Steven Taylor is a ****er of the highest order imo.

However, I don't like to see any players out for the season with serious injuries.

I'd like to see him **** up on the pitch but not like this.

  8. Actually I would say Demba Ba was the bargain of the season, as he cost us nothing and one of the top scorers in the premier league this year.

    Back to the original subject.

Wes Brown may have been a better defender in his day, but he isn't now. That's why I said Steven Taylor is better than any of your defenders, not "Steven Taylor is better than any of your defenders have ever been".

Maybe the reason Brown got called up at 20 and Taylor didn't, was because Brown was better at the age of 20 than Steven Taylor at 20? I'm not denying that. I'm talking about the present, and right now, Steven Taylor is better than Wes Brown.

He must have been on the fringe of an England team call up by how he's played since he returned from his injury, and the fact that before today when Coloccini went off injured and Perch came on, we had the joint best defense in the league, of which Steven Taylor was a massive part. But alas he's got another injury, which is the story of his life so far. He starts to really catch everyone's eye and impress, then gets an injury.

I wasn't trying to make an argument to say who's had the better career so far, because clearly Wes Brown has, but recently, Steven Taylor has better than Wes Brown.

Have you watched every game Sunderland have played this season? Ok, so you think Taylor is better, I think Brown is better. Brown is the first name on the teamsheet for me. Not being biased, I would pick Brown ahead of Taylor if I had to make the choice and ofcourse being a Newcastle fan, you will state the opposite.

I was having a debate with another poster from your board a few weeks ago and the subject came around to our loss at home to Arsenal. During our exchange he/she stated that it was 1 versus 11 (referring to Wes Brown). Not bad for someone who apparently doesn't play very well these days. It was a few weeks ago so I'm not going to bother to dig up the thread.

Ba is up there where the best deals are concerned for sure.

  11. Haha, I love how quick you are all to forget derby day defeats. You pray you win the next derby just so you can say "hahahaaha we have the bragging rights, those other 3 in the last 18 months are in the past, Sunderland are clearly the top NE club now hahahhahahaha".

I think you should have learned a lesson over the last couple of season mate, that your overconfidence constantly comes back to bite you.

Before the start of last season you were rubbishing our team, talking about an easy 6 points and how anything below 4pts would be a disgrace ect... and you were lucky to get 1pt off us all season.

You did the same thing before the start of this season. Pissing yourselves laughing and putting money on us getting relegated just because lost "our 4 best players". And bragging about all these immense players you signed, and how superior your squad is now...

Now we've lost to Chelsea and you've signed a new manager, you're back to your old self again.

You need to learn to take things game by game instead of looking into your mackem crystal ball mate...

  13. I've not watched the full Sunderland season so far, but I've seen plenty of you. I think Brown is a good defender still, and I may have been out of order when I said Steven Taylor was far better than Brown, but so far this season, I'd say Taylor has been the more impressive.

But, this isn't really going to be a constructive argument anymore, it's just entirely opinionated.

You think Brown is better, I think Taylor is better. Fair enough.
