We've put a fair amount of time, money and effort into this lad ...

... I can't see the sense in saying he should just be sent back tbh.

It's doing supporters no harm to have him here and he may become an important player, those like him aren't exactly plentiful so we should do everything possible to accommodate him. We also need to realise that how we treat players is a big deciding factor on how future signings see us ...

... dumping someone in the middle of an agreement, because of an injury, doesn't look good in my opinion.

We currently have a great reputation, probably the best in my lifetime so lets not spoil it.

Can’t wait to see this lad play, could really take our midfield to the next level, like the option to move Neil slightly further forward too

It creates a problem though, is Neil better than Jobe or Rigg in that role.

It wouldn't be easy dropping either imo ...

... and that's what it would mean, in reality.

We can use words like 'resting' or 'rotating' but I doubt either of them would see it that way.

It’s a nice option/problem to have, long old season players will need a rest from time to time

I think it would be a competitive place for Neil and Samed.I see Jobe and Riggy further up the pitch.Reading that article,it's very impressive, and several of us have been looking for another DCM to come in to support Dan.If we can get him fit and up to it,may be a big difference for us in the second half of the season, and,I would expect to see Dan produce performances to stand up to the competition.

Mid December was the last we heard, which is just around the corner to be fair
He's in some sort of training, but not sure he was in full training with the group. You'd assume he'd need min 2 weeks full training before getting some mins in the u21s. Realistically it will be January before we see him on the pitch IMHO

We may as well hang on to him for now, and hope he is fit asp , meanwhile I would like to see O/9 given a shot in the midfield role even just to rest the younger players, we forget about just how much football they are playing and fatigue is costing us big time imo.
We assume the RLB's reluctance to use subs enough, is that he does not trust those that are available , or thats the excuse used so far , I think its a major weakness that needs addressing sooner rather than later. He has a lot of good will in the tank and rightly so , but so did TM and that did not end too well ;

We’d be mad to chuck him straight in after all this time, couple of 45mins for the 21s build to an hour/70mins then get him on the bench, in my ideal but probably unrealistic world haha

Jobe is the only CM that's undropable at the minute, I'm a big fan of Rigg and Neil but Jobe is on a different level to them at the minute

When he’s fit he COULD be the game changer

interestingly, I think if we go up and he plays well we will sign him as a premier league DM, he has top flight, international and champions league experience and getting him to sign to play the premier league after already knowing the team and coach will be a lot easier

Agree,let's see...could be a game changer,as you say.

I wonder what the deal consisted of because it's highly unusual to loan/sign a player that is expected to miss this much of the season unless the financials were very favourable to the buying/loaning club.
