Genuine question, is ffp an obstacle in getting rid of Walt? Paying off him and his team will be expensive. The EFL are monitoring our finances and not allowing us to increase our debt unchecked. Are we in a position whereby we have to wait until January to offload before we can pay the settlements?

It was the kind of ****-or-bust decision that you get in the last 5 minutes of an FA Cup Final or from a bloke that knows the game's up.Walter finally lost my support when he subbed off a befuddled Hughes and just abandoned defensive shape altogether. It was pure provocation to the fans and chairman. Silly twat.
Exactly thisIt was the kind of ****-or-bust decision that you get in the last 5 minutes of an FA Cup Final or from a bloke that knows the game's up.
The substitution wasn’t the problem (although personally I’d have left Hughes on and taken Jones off) The problem was that there was no defensive plan or shape to play with 3 at the back.Exactly this
There’s plenty to beat Walter with but the decision to take off a defender and sling another forward on isn’t one of them
You either put the defender up front or take him off and sling a centre forward on which he did
It's just a completely weird, stupid situation now. It makes our games feel almost trivial because we're obviously going to lose them. No one gave a **** in the stands tonight because we all knew it was coming. Half the fans didn't even turn up. With each game he refuses to sack him it just gets weirder. It is so obviously over it's ridiculous. He was at the Parkinson/Molby/Slutsky/Shota stage about three weeks ago. Now he's just suffering pointlessly and so are we.
In terms of points per game rankings, Walter (0.88) sits immediately below Slutsky (0.90), and immediately above Phil Parkinson (0.88), Mark Hateley (0.86), and Jan Mølby (0.82).
All of those managers had longer tenures than Walter, except for Mølby the who lasted 17 league games. The same Walter has, so far.
Walter would have to remain in charge and lose the next two games for his points per game return to be worse than Mølby’s.
I know some people will say that these managers were in charge in different leagues so it’s unfair to compare, however, the points per game needed to compete for a play-off spot is pretty consistent across all the divisions, being around 1.6 points per game.
It’s pretty common consensus that the sackings of Slutsky, Parkinson, Hateley and Molby were correct so this says a lot about Walter.
Sorry, can't agree with any of this.Acun getting called on various threads, especially the match thread just now (putting this on here as it's not really match related).
Yes, he's made mistakes. No question.
But, how much has he been let down by his 'brains team' and Tan? I would say that's where the biggest blame lies.
They are the ones that do the analysis, identify players, identify managers (*), sort deals, etc etc. (* bar Shota at the start, before the current 'brains trust' was established?).
Acun has of course been directly involved in bringing a small handful of players in during his time so far, fair enough, but not the bulk. He's also worked hard to get deals over the line when needed.
It's clear Acun expected the 'brains trust' and Tan to crack on during summer but they failed miserably, and to be fair he had already said he was still fully committed but had to share his time (businesses & Fener). Then towards the end of the window Acun had no choice but to get back hands on once again. It seems Tan has done something to screw him, whether that's money or performance wise (or both). It seems highly unlikely to me that Acun would have identify Walter himself and then gone against advice of his team; it more like came from them following a brief and he supported it.
I agree with those saying he should install a DoF and let them get on with it. Isn't that pretty much what he was expecting Tan and the 'brains team' to be / do?
I'm a little surprised he still talks so positively about this 'brains team' ... or maybe he's just not wanting to hang them out to dry?
I get that he has the final say on big stuff. Only right. He's surely the good guy in this mess, not least having done so much good off the field for our club, but been let down by those around him.
January is only five weeks away. I'm sure a club who trousered nearly £30m in transfer fees only a few months ago has enough spare cash down the back seat of Acuns Rolls Royce to pay Walters salary for this month then his severance pay a week late?Genuine question, is ffp an obstacle in getting rid of Walt? It's his Club,it's his 4th manager,it's his mess and he's took ownership of this monumental **** up prior to kick off last-night where he also backed the current coach, not for the first time.Ultimately he stands or falls by decisions made at the Club.
My only surprise in your post is you didn't end it with the famous war cry "Some of you lot deserve the Allams back"...
In the same way the buck stops with Tim for the football being played right now. The buck stops with Acun for a lot of the behind the scenes problems. He is the owner who took a gamble on a stable team and has put it in real risk of it being relegated.
Many have said he should have hired people that know the championship and left them to it. With Rosenior and Darnbrough he probably had that. Instead with the proverbial brains team filled with unknown quantities (and Dublin). This is on him.
