This screams volumes of a promotion team. A strong defence is what can let a lot of good teams down in this league so the fact we have one is brilliant

we just need to get back to scoring. Still one of the highest scorers in the league

Why didn't Connoly not get a run out ? Goal at the weekend and we needed one.
Think RLBs view was that the players he’d have replaced (Isidor and Rigg) were both playing well and carrying a threat. I just don’t think his mind goes to ‘roll the dice and give them a different look’. Similar to Roberts; who last night was still finding seams and combining well with full backs till the end. It almost came off for him a few times so I suspect RLB gave him the chance to bring it home. It jusy seems to be how his mind works.

Glad I stayed off here last night <laugh>

Overall I thought we played well and just lacked the goal, credit where it's due WBA did a job at limiting us and whenever the ball was played in they defended well.

5 draws in a row now so we need to get back to winning if we want to keep pace.

It was going just wide but I take your point.
The block they got on Rigg's shot was far more important as that looked to be going in.

Oh was it! From my angle in the ground if looked to be going into the corner. Haven't seen a TV replay.

Aye, any other day we would have won by 2 or 3 goals, no issue at all with the performance last night.

I mentioned previously they defended well, the number of blocks was ridiculous. But that was coupled with an incredible amount of good fortune also. The loose ball always dropped to a west Brom man, daft things like the keeper having no idea what he was doing when he accidentally nutmegged our player after messing up at the back.

We get games like that unfortunately, we will be in the mix I'm sure at the end of the season.

Like when their cb didn’t realise he was getting pressed Roberts tackled him but the ball got stuck when we would’ve been 1 on 1

Sometimes you feel like you're fighting forces and nothing you do will get the ball to cross the line. Felt a bit like that last night and even when we finally scored it got chalked off.

Can anyone remember the old offside rule about "daylight" between the scorer and defender? What happened to that?

Frustrating thing is we were happy to give piroe the benefit of the doubt

Actually just watched the highlights back and we had more chances than I thought. The highlights have missed out a couple of chances from Rigg and Bellingham too.

maybe we weren’t as bad as I thought
Yeah there were at least three very presentable chances from the edge of the box that Jobe and a Rigg blazed over - to go alongside the more obvious good chances. It genuinely wasn’t as bad as the fan reaction imo.

Disappointed not to have picked up the three points we deserved on the night.
Share the concerns re the use of subs other lads have mentioned recently.
Great to get home from a home game before 11pm rather than 2.30am.
Onwards and upwards to Friday.

First of all I’m pleased that we put in a good second half shift as opposed to the recent second halves where we sat back.

Have you noticed that a lot of our goals are worldies, the Rigg back heel, Cirkin and Jobe’s missiles, Wilson’s solo and his volley.
It’s all very well getting these goals but we really need the tap ins and scrambled goals from the poacher type of forward because we can’t keep relying on worldies to win a game as it’s unlikely we will keep getting enough of them.

Has anyone at the various press conferences asked RLB about his reluctance to use subs?
If they did, does anyone remember the answer.
If they didn’t, then why not.
It can’t be right when you have a player dead on his feet (as Rigg has been towards the end of some games) that they are not subbed to bring on fresh legs. Surely a fresh Rusyn, Ba or Adil would bring more to the game than a knackered player who has given everything and is running on empty.

Have we got nobody who can do set pieces. Our corners are rubbish and free kicks usually wasted.

The good news is the subs and set piece issues can be sorted and when they are addressed we will be better for it.

Imagine being a West Brom fan though. Last minute of stoppage time, 0-0, ball on the left wing, one last attack.....................and they pass it back to the half way line. Said it all.
Imagine being a Man City fan. Playing the CL “whipping boys”, being 3-0 up and still not winning!!
