If anything, it's good motivation for their own players?

"Well lads, well played, they're different gravy that Hull mob,Walter is a tactical genius, they're a nightmare to work out and they really should be top 6 instead of third bottom.Next weeks epic Clash at home to QPR is going to be the biggest test in some of your Footballing careers"...

He says a lot of things that make absolutely no sense. This being one. But also last week explaining that the fans will need to get used to a possession-based style as it is the way to play to get results. Of course, results have actually got a lot worse and we were playing possession football previously anyway; it seems ridiculous to me that he would not know that and equally ridiculous that he'd so brazenly talk about the way to get results when he has made them so much worse.

You know in those 7 years he achieved two promotions, a cup win, a play off final penalty shoot out and an FA Cup semi final, right?

I think Acun will bring someone close to himself again, all these talk about Championship experience is just at fan base level.

At some point he has to realise his ideas for hiring & firing aren’t exactly great & he needs a manager who can do the job properly!
He also needs someone to help him with making these decisions, whether it’s someone who knows English football or someone who is known in football in general with good contacts, he can’t keep making the same mistakes.

agree, this will now be his 4th managerial appointment
He got it totally wrong with Shota (lovely guy, totally out of his depth)
Took a gamble on Rosenior (ex player, young, ambitious)
Got it totally wrong again with Walter

Who (if anyone) is advising him on these appointments ?
Papa Allam was totally clueless about football but at least had the intelligence to listen to whoever advised him to hire Steve Bruce
Who does Acun listen to ?

Ironically, the Allams had a decent record when appointing managers. Barmby, Bruce, Silva, Adkins and McCann were all at least OK (McCann collapse aside). Their only misses were Slutsky and Phelan.

Acun is the symbol of crony capitalism of Turkey, he works with people whom he was friends since high-school, university and first years of his career, he ties business his MP uncle and other relatives, his wealth, his success, everything depends on close circle and people he added there. May be Tan case would be an enlightenment for him but I don't think it will change, he basically embodied this philosophy. Walter was suggested to him by Calhanoglu who Acun had close relationship, Shota was same, only Rosenoir was external influence where he got rid of at first opportunity although everything was relatively ok. New manager will be same, either an insider suggestion or a short-living external that will be axed at first opportunity.

Not anymore, I already wrote last week in one post, his businesses are losing momentum, his future is uncertain. I wouldn't bet on his success anymore, I know my heritage country, every 10/15 years a shake down happens, all those rich people, oligarks created by government subsidies suddenly disappear, some of them lost their wealth due to people they rely on is not significant anymore, some of them purged, their wealth confiscated. Acun is part of next group, he enjoyed success with current people in power, but it is kind of obvious that era is changing. I can give a lot name, last examples were Koza Holding (had close ties with Denizlispor once even had a good run in UEFA Cup, now in lower leagues) because they supported coup plotters, Orduspor (where two-time CL finalist Hector Cuper ended, now in amateurs) and definitely Uzan family (who brought Mario Jardel with a record fee to Galatasaray when he was golden shoe candidate) because they were able to challenge current government. Every power change ends up with transfer of wealth, next power change will be end of Acun and probably Basaksehir (owned by family members of president) and Adana Demirspor (currently in financial trouble, close ally of government) and Rizespor if I limit what will happen to only football world.

I also wrote in one post, that's why I stopped doing business there, by western standards it is a land full of mines.

I’d go and check out what Coventry fans think about his dismissal. They are gutted, he’s always had them challenging, various levels of success, period of time playing home games at a different ground. I’d say he’s exceeded expectations given the level of **** he has constantly had to deal with.

Outrageous that he didn't get them to the PL, especially in his first 3 years at the club. What was he doing wasting precious time down in League 2 and 1?

I think we got very lucky with both Bruce and Silva with Bruce being recommended, and (from memory) Silva trying to apply in June/July, got ignored, and then Ehab revisited in December. Not too sure who recommended McCann but I could imagine since at the time he was up and coming, Ehab just did a quick search for an exciting, young, CHEAP manager. Adkins was probably just a simple firefighting appointment, with Slutsky a "Well it worked with Silva and he'll give us easy access to Chelsea loanees". Barmby and Phelan were already within the club.

I wouldn't be against City having a chat with Tom Huddlestone. See if he fancies having a go.
Doubt if the 'Brain team' even know who he is though.

If we are going to have a new manager, no more experiments with up and coming or ex players or radical philosophys. We need experienced, been there done that, old school.

I don’t think Merthan Acil or Mustafa Yokes have ever been announced, just mentioned in articles or interviews with Acun. Definitely a few more at board level too.
