I know some will think this is unambitious, but if Walter does go, I'd be very inclined to give the job to Andy Dawson on a short term contract initially. He already started to turn things round after Acun's first managerial mistake of appointing Shota, he knows the existing players and the division, and I just think he'd simplify things, communicate more clearly and get the players playing to their strengths rather than having to adapt to some philosophy which isn't working in the EFL. I imagine Acun will pull some other name out of a hat, but that's what I would do.
Corberan has said teams are finding it difficult to prepare for us because only Inter Milan and Juventus set-up in the same way. Not bad company!
City have completed a roughly a third of the seasons games and got 15 points. Play like this all season and we get around 45 points. That won’t be enough. Walter has until Christmas time to improve what he has produced so far. Does not matter how well we play we need points. The next 10 games are crucial. If he can’t put the points on the board then he will go. Acun dare not take the risk.
BS - no one is finding it difficult to prepare for us, counter the way we play or beat us. It's easy for opposition managers to be complimentary when they have just beaten you.
I'm just listening to the 1904 podcast. Tim is sticking to saying if the opposition score 2 we will score 3. WE ARE ****ED with this guy in charge.
The thing I think teams are finding hard is to press us. There are hairy moments yes but by and large teams are sitting off. Our issue isn’t the playing out it’s what we do with it when we are in the middle to final third. I don’t think this equates us being hard to beat mind. We concede sloppy goals
He's paying lip service as if he's going to come out and say we're easy to beat and they did with a knackered team
I'd have to disagree and think they find it easy to press us. How many times have we given possession away in a press
We are easy to press as we use exactly the same routine at goal kicks Every-time. Since when football became about how you get out your own half on goal kicks I’ll ever know. The good teams in the Prem neee about 5 passes, we need about 105.
I'd suggest a role for Nick Barmby, joining Dawes....But I can't see it happening, because Acun is unlikely to sack Walter.
Well he said difficult to prepare against, I assume this means the system is hard to play against tactically, what actually happens is a different story.
I think it depends on what he was asked. If he was specifically asked about our tactics or how he prepared I don't think you can rely o what he's said but if he just came out with those comments rather than been asked then fair enough
