You really do need medical help. Comparing Trump with Hitler is the sign of someone who is completely lost mentally
Your inability to see links and connections to the past is probably down to your poor breadth of education. I was actually comparing Trump also the 1930s Republicans - as the "tariff" plan that he is so proud of was being touted then, too. But he does have a lot of resemblances to Hitler. Trump operates by "othering" minorities and non-standard figures. He attacks people on the basis of how "manly" they are - just like Adolf did. Someone else around here likes to do the same thing, actually....
In a different country. We just had a general election where a moderate left wing party achieved a massive landslide. How does this fit your triumphalist narrative? Are all the millions who voted Labour or Lib Dem to get rid of a corrupt and incompetent government in this echo chamber with me? It will be interesting to see what happens on 20th November, when your fat orange hero is in court yet again.
Interesting that comparison was also made a couple of years ago by *checks notes* a certain J.D. Vance, the newly elected Vice President.
Sounds about right what you have quoted for a 'normal' person. Family costs in a 'normal' home run at about $1200/month. In fairness, here not all employers offer heath cover, but there, nearly all employers offer basic health for average wage staff (not talking about part time here). And it is basic. Anything slightly large and you have to self pay. Thing I find is a lot of middle class US people have just grown up with it and think it is normal. I asked numerous times what happens if you are poor and can't afford it and go to hospital. I always get a very vague "Oh the government and charities will help". Not like here where you know you can be admitted to hospital and wont be saddled with a huge bill at the end of it. I do feel strongly that we have to protect the NHS and am uncomfortable sometimes when I have jumped the queue for minor ops with my Employer provided cover. It's not right and morally I struggle with it, but it is offered to me so I do use it.

Clearly, Trump is all in favour of minorities, and will do everything in his power to see that they are treated equally
The point of history is to not make the same mistakes twice. You can't just ignore it. 1930s Germany is akin to what is happening now. It may not pan out the same, but it is wise to consider it. In my low IQ, sheeple opinion that is.
If you are unfortunate enough to be born with the genes that lead to the development of Type 1 Diabetes in the USA, you will be out of pocket by around $1500 or more, just for your insulin, as not all the costs are covered by Medicare. The USA pays astronomically higher prices per vial of insulin than anywhere else in the world, as this chart shows. Figures are out of date, but the differentials remain similar. The UK price is, of course, what the pharmaceutical companies charge the NHS, rather than what diabetics in Britain actually pay, which is zero. Notice also that millions of Americans find it economically viable to travel to Canada to pick up their insulin supplies, rather than pay through the nose for exactly the same product in their own country.
They received less votes than the last election. There was no credible right wing party. The votes were split between reform and what’s left of the Tories. Add to that the exceptionally low turnout. They have a very small mandate. Not only that, they ran on lies. As soon as there is a credible right win again, labour will lose again. In fact, it would not surprise me at all if Nigel Farage is the next prime minister
Jolly good. He’s such a great MP. Remind me how many times he’s ever been to Clacton in his life, and how many constituency surgeries he’s held since his election?
Mental gymnastics. Emphasis on mental. One person must have a brain worthy of the Olympic Mental Gymnastics!
The thing is if these people didn’t feel they were suffering so badly economically they would have less time and inclination to get wound up about a changing world The western world’s blue collar workers have seen their prospects stagnate while the rich get richer Starmer needs to address that here In the US many people think that Trump is the answer, not the Democrats, and I gather the Biden years have done little to dispel their thoughts Let’s face it how many US Democrat politicians are working class and look like they can represent that?
Yeah, absolutely this. Across the democratic world, wages haven’t moved, job security has diminished, people have taken on debt, then inflation surged, interest rates went up, and people who has been coping suddenly weren’t. Labour has a window of opportunity to address income inequality in the U.K., if they don’t take it, and leave ordinary people feeling tangibly better off, then come the next election the far right are waiting here, as they are everywhere in Europe and the US.
Things seem to be moving towards a Weimar Republic hyper-inflationary situation, with many 'ordinary' people being dissatisfied with their lot, and casting around for someone, or something, to blame. Still, the end result of the Weimar Republic couldn't possibly happen again, in our enlightened, intelligent, world. Could it? Kristallnacht, anyone?
Here’s a conspiracy for you, on a phone in on the radio today a caller claimed the reason Musk was so behind Trump is because he is “allegedly “ connected to the Epstein saga. And with Trump being president again will make it all go away.
