He's running to stay out of prison, not because he wants to run the country. If he wins, he's free, Vance isn't going to go after him, so why would he stay in a job he doesn't really want? It's pretty clear he's losing his marbles, even to his support.
Honestly? I don't think he'll win and I don't think it'll be close.

I think he wants the job. But definitely a big part of him wanting to win (by hook or crook) is to make those criminal cases disappear.

As for his supporters, I don't think they do see it. To the rest of the world he's an unhinged narcissistic megalomaniac. To his supporters, he's the saviour of America from the Communist left.

I think Kamala Harris is a safe pair of hands, but I don't know how radical she will be. So it will probably be more of the same from her. What I do think separates her out on the Israel/Palestine issue is that she will hold Israel to account for civilian deaths and she will have the power to leverage that with the US massive supply of arms to Israel. My hope is that she would seek to start negotiations around a two state settlement. Under a Trump administration, Palestine will effectively cease to exist, because he'll give Netanyahu what he wants, settlers will take over Gaza and Palestinians will become refugees around the world and Trump will claim it as a victory saying he ended the war.

A two state solution is dead in the water for a generation at least as the Israelis will take at least that long before the rage subsides .

I'm with Ern on this, he don't want the job, he wants to stay out of prison. I said at the time when the cops went chasing after Trump, you should let sleeping dogs lie, because until then there was no noise about him running, but because they were so desperate to sling him in jail, he was left with no option but to run. But that's dumb arse Americans for you and everyone else that played along to the Biden tune, while he is as dangerous to the world as the rest of these fooking lunatics.

I think he wants both. Getting the job keeps him out of prison.

And it's right that the justice system goes after people who have committed crimes.

Why do you have to start with the insults ? I could give them back and we'd just end up in a name calling match, so just drop it.

We shouldn't let criminals get away with their crimes imo because otherwise it just makes a cowardly mockery of the justice system. It shouldn't matter that people are powerful or rich whether the criminal justice system applies to them. Otherwise, we make one rule for the rich and another for the poor, and that is dangerous territory.

Because you are thick, the actions of those that seeked that justice have left us with a loose cannon that's going to run amok if he wins. And the outcome of a win will mean no jail, so you risked all to gain nothing.

You're thick if you think criminal acts should go unchecked. You'd create a state where anybody with wealth and power would just break the law and do what they want, because they'd know nobody would bother to go after them

That's not how the rule of law works
