8th time lucky for Ange - he finally wins a derby!

Kulu impressive the whole game but Son’s second half performance just steals the MOTM for me. His two outside of the boot Modric-esque passes were sheer class in the build up to two of the goals and then bagged a goal himself.

The Sarr-Maddison sub was also well done by Ange, Kudos was having too much freedom in the first half and we shut a lot of that down.

Only downer was bringing that utter rotter on instead of giving Moore minutes.

so now he needs to figure out how to play a bit of 1st half Brighton and 2nd half hammers and I think we have cracked it

Baffles me how much stick Son gets from some. He’s still far and away the best attacker Spurs have.

Werner for Moore shows Ange is desperate for Werner to come good imo. He’s also not arsed about giving youngsters minutes in league games imo.

Hmmm...not sure I can fully agree with this one, RCL.

When you look purely at the results, Moyes did a good job at West Ham for the reasons you've stated - just to add to your point, he even got them their highest ever points tally in the Premier League era, their highest league finish since 1999, 1 Europa League semi-final and 1 Europa League quarter-final - so there's no questioning his success there.

However, the style of play was an eyesore and, considering the talent West Ham had at their disposal (particularly in the last 2-3 years), I don't think he was maximising their capabilities.

Moyes was a safe pair of hands, and that will do for a while. But what fan doesn't want their team to evolve and improve? He tried to be more expansive for a short period of time, realised he couldn't do it and then went back to his tried and trusted methods. Which weren't entertaining and didn't suit their personnel. There was always a ceiling on what Moyes could do as soon as expectations rose.

I also think West Ham's form in this calendar year warranted a change. They've been dreadful for a while.

Now, just because Lopetegui was a bad appointment, it doesn't mean it was wrong to get rid of Moyes. The mistake they made was bringing in a manager who isn't suited to the club and doesn't play attacking football.

They had a good transfer window and have some talented players at the club. They shouldn't be performing this horribly.

Yeah it’s not something I can get on board with, I think the system/ tactics has been failing Son a lot more than Son supposedly failing the system/ tactics. Been keeping him too wide for too often.

It was with hope that I posted Werner goal incoming , but what I saw was a man so low in confidence that he would not be able to hit a cows arse with a banjo , it's a shame the man has pace and experience which is what the team badly needs

It’s more than confidence. He’s been garbage for 5 years nearly. He’s done as a top level footballer

Great result, not sure we played as well as the score the suggests, but very happy and actually looking forward to work on Monday.

We often give Ange pelters for not changing things but today the tactical change at HT was key, I questioned what Sarr does a couple of weeks ago, but I thought he made a real difference today, gave us better midfield balance.

Good to see Kulu playing so well and Son looked sharper than he did before the injury, also thought that Bissouma had a decent game took his goal well and I thought Vic had a good game too.

This is probably going to sound a bit funny given the result and performance, but I think West Ham aren't far off a good squad.
The back four were very solid in the first half, Rodriguez and Soucek covered them well and Kudus and Bowen were very dangerous on the break.
They also had some very decent options off the bench in Soler, Summerville and Alvarez, the last of which probably should've started.

Their problem, in my opinion, is a lack of quality in goal and up top, which is pretty substantial admittedly.
A top striker and a good prospect for depth, plus a keeper with good distribution and they'd be a threat.
Paqueta's clearly gone though, so I've no idea why they're playing him. Antonio's legs are, too.

Very happy with the result and I was surprised with the Maddison change, but it worked wonders.
Sarr balanced the side out and they basically stopped being an attacking threat, even on the break.
Wonderful ball for Son's goal, too. Beautifully weighted.
