Odd ginger beard aside I like the lad interviewing him.

Glad to see Speakman speaking, putting his face out there and taking some credit for a good start to the season.

I want Speakman to succeed because it means we are succeeding. Simply really.

Anyone think he’s noticeably more humble ?

I don't think he's changed at all tbh, more that people's attitude towards him has softened ...

... perhaps he'd more relaxed now we have a decent manager and staff, being top doesn't hurt <laugh>

I can imagine some of his worst critics would find that impossible to watch all the way through.

It would make them realise what dicks they are.

To be specific I hear him talk about adjusting things, reflecting and being open about processes that have gone wrong. It’s healthy of course and I’m sure you’re also right about being top helping on all levels.

You're right, if football was so predictable it would all be very easy.

But sometimes you just have to take a chance on a player/manager/coach who may or may not succeed ...

... the fact it's working, more often than not, has to be down to Speakman and the scouts imo.

And also ballsy of the board to give them time and the chance to put things right/learn from mistakes.

Thought he received some very harsh criticism on here and all over social media. Some of it aimed at him because “some people don’t like him and think he is arrogant”.
There were a load of “I have heard this or I have heard that” most I suspect was bullshit and driven by the normal malcontents who need an axe to grind.
Yes this year is a big one for him and the club, but in my opinion we are seeing the hard work starting to reap rewards. Will it last I don’t know but I am thoroughly enjoying watching this side learn and grow in front of our fantastic support.

You can always pick players who've failed, at any club, but that proves nothing.

Every club signs players who simply don't fit with no apparent reason.

They've often been good players at their previous club and are good players when they move on.

My question to people who have a problem with Speakman, and the coaches, is this ...

... if he's such an arrogant and unpleasant man why do players keep coming and why do the existing ones keep extending their contracts, it's not for the money?

Only bit I took from that is he appreciated that he appointed someone who didn't and couldn't have a positive relationship with us as fans.

Rightly so too. It has to be a good fit. Always said it and the Beale wasn't.

Glad he has reflected on that.

It's difficult to find someone who's well-liked and popular with everyone they come across, just as it's difficult to find someone who likes and gets on well with everyone they meet, particularly in an environment where personnel are frequently changing, large amounts of money are involved and there are a plethora of ambition and egos.
I've no doubt that KS has rubbed one or two people up the wrong way during his time with us,which may well have led to some criticism of his methods and even his character, but, equally, there will be those who find him easy to relate to and to get along with.
From the outside, looking in,notwithstanding the one or two obvious mistakes along the way,I can say I'm delighted with how the club is being managed,I'm enjoying my football under the KLD/KS regime and I think the future looks as bright for us as it has in a long time.

Is the club now reaping the rewards of the hard work put in behind the scenes for the last 3 years or so.
Seems were heading in the right direction at last, the last decade or so has been a bit of a horror story, are the good times just round the corner?, they're actually here out on the pitch with these young lads, can they last the pace til May, only time will tell but it's a lovely time to be watching it transpire.

That interviewer was good and clearly has a good knowledge of championship football but he was doing my head in looking down all the time. Looked like he was texting, I assume it was something he was doing related to the interview (making notes, crossing off point he had covered or something with the tech) but it did my head in!

Still can’t believe they appointed Beale. Clear as day he’d never work here. Hopefully that’s the last big mistake when it comes down to appointing a main man.

I'd imagine those people are the ones who keep questioning his plan and telling him where he's going wrong.

If they're people in a similar, or higher, position he might take some notice ...

... but having constant 'advice', from people who don't really have a clue, would make anyone blunt and dismissive.

KLD has absolutely transformed this club, from top to bottom, and trusts Speakman ... end of story.

Just listened to it - really good.

He does talk a lot of management speak, but so what - plenty of others do also. Was interesting to hear him talking about Beale and little fans connection and how he changed approach for next appt. Clearly succession planning is massive and they have been following Regis for a few years. Nobody will know what the shortlist was, but it was a considered appt.
    We are in good hands
