Yeah that was a silly comment. He has done great for British boxing but I hate the fakeness. Can not have that many different personalities and personas.
Dubois was awesome from start to finish, AJ showed heart but I think he was done after the first knockdown.
He doesn't react well to being hurt. That first round really took him out. Massive punch TBF but was basics. Hands down, wide open. Took DDD lightly IMO.
Was a great watch mind. Dubois done him in the first but actually he just found his feet and if he defended himself after that flurry instead of going for the kill we might have seen a great few extra rounds. Dubois was mightily impressive. We all know AJ has never been all that, he is simply marketable as **** because of his personality and looks. To say he’s a bad fighter isn’t fair but he was never and will never be top level. Usyk didn’t even need a spray of Lynx after their fights. AJ has been good for the sport in a time of few stars, but now he needs to step away, enjoy his life and do TV work etc.
Watched the fight with my son who boxes. He said after a minute his hands are too low and he will get caught. Dubois is elite level and that was a strange attitude to take. That punch in the first was unreal mind. How AJ got as far as he did after that shows how brave and committed he is. I thought he had Dubois at the moment he got clocked. Again hands down. AJ has had a class career. Highlight always the Klitschko win. Had his frailties too but I hope he retires now. A rematch with Dubois makes no sense to me after last night. Dubois has bigger fish to fry.
He overlooked DDD for me. Even in the press conferences giving it the big I am. Going back in straight lines, hands down is ridiculous at that level. DDD showed some iron chin stuff too. That uppercut and double right hand before calmly check hooking to sleep AJ was really high level.
Loved the way the little lads eyes lit up holding his dads belt full of pride, that is a treasured memory indeed. Thank you, Mr Dubois for a special entertaining evening glad I was able to watch it.
Even my missus said ‘why hasn’t he got his hands up?’ Still have to take your chance though and Dub very much did so.
I don't think Joshua will be remembered with much reverence. Decent boxer, great physique and that's about it. Not a particularly likeable bloke.
His racist remarks in 2020 at the BLM protest done it for me, the mask slipped, enjoyed watching him get punched around the ring.
Bivol Beterbiev. This is a real fight. No fake build up. Just two elite boxers having at it. Bivol for me. A bit against the odds. But he is so technically sound on the outside, he is hard to hit. His performance against Cannelo was from the top drawer. Huge respect to Bertebiev, his record says it all, but I feel Bivol is an all time great in the making.
