I saw today that BBC Football posted a rumour that Antoine may be on his way out of Bournemouth for a possible larger fee. If it is true were we smart enough to put in a clause that said if Antoine was traded we would get a decent slice of the action? How good it is to see our ex-players doing so well at a higher level. :emoticon-0137-clapp

He’s really flourished this season with Solanke gone. Yet, Alex Scott has really struggled to make any impact since he went there.

Remind me who sold him….. oh yeah, and who signed him….
We don’t talk about that Supcon. It doesn’t fit with some fans’ agenda.
If it’s an LJ signing they praise the (later) manager that oversaw their best time at BS3.
If it’s a pre-LJ signing who flourished under LJ (aka Reid) they praise the manager who signed him in the first place and spotted the potential.
You won’t win here. You’re more likely to have greater success persuading the Arabs and Israelis to live next door to each other as good neighbours…….

inver where did you get that RUMOUR? from looked around and cant see no recent info!

Yet you said he wasn’t that good
I admit I didn’t think he was that good at first.
The first time I saw him play for us it was v Derby at AG and he got himself sent off - after doing very little positive.
He’s obviously grown into a very useful player.

Ashton would definitely have brokered a clause in the sale to award us some sell-on money.
Not sure if his successor is as sharp…

I always liked him, found him really exciting and could not wait till Covid to end to see him live. Real bums of seat player like a bull in China shop but so exciting to watch.

Banter and fishing aside, WAS it LJ that signed him?
I thought he was already in the youth team when LJ was appointed.

Yes, both him and Scott were signed while LJ was manager. Watch this get downplayed now:emoticon-0113-sleep:emoticon-0113-sleep
He was on loan at Newport County I seem to remember and doing very well there.
When he was recalled I remember thinking that the lad was out of his depth in the Championship. To me it didn’t look as if he was able to offer much.
How wrong I was - but sadly (as happens so often) he’s peaking for another club

Think it’s standard now 20% but there was a few add on clauses with Antoine. Plus they owe us for letting Lloyd Kelly run his contract down.
