Also don't be fooled by the journalists telling themselves what they need to hear .... they spent 18 months saying the takeover was over, but Newcastle won that battle.

5 days later the enemy put up another defence and it's going to be broken up eventually.

This week when faced with rulings of underhand behaviour and unlawful rules the media are instead peddling the notion it's a Premier league win while side stepping how appalling they are.

These ****s really are going to get it in the end.

Try showing me some of that faith.

"The tribunal has declared the APT Rules to be unlawful. MCFC’s position is that this means that all of the APT rules are void, and have been since 2021," says Cliff.

The PL is about to be brought to its knees.

APT rules are unlawful. The principle is fine, the execution is the problem.

The PL claiming otherwise is a breach of public law.

The clubs cannot vote on APT rules as to do so is a breach of public law. Any club that votes to keep will face significant claims for compensation.

    Oh that's interesting.

It appears this is actually much more of a breakthrough than we perhaps thought.

Either that or the Premier League are in fact morons.

It was obvious to anyone with half a brain the Pl were trying to save face.

They went to court and the rules they wanted have been ruled illegal.

The fact they peddled some notion the framework and idea wasn't illegal was for the birds... like so what ?

The rules as drafted are unlawful. A vote to keep them is an unlawful act. The clubs can only vote to remove them pending new rules.

New rules will have to be compliant with competition and public law. They have been ruled to be retrospectively void since October 2021.

Newcastle and PIF can engage in APT's without penalty or interference.

That is why it is big.

Wow I thought it would loosen things up and a new vote would be the decider.. I fancied our chances in a vote now.

    This is way bigger then

The media seem a little slow to report this as they realise the defence they put up needs looking at.

There is no ambiguity with this.

    APT rules are void.
New rules will take time to be drafted and passed. NUFC has a window to bring in massive sponsorship without penalty.

The one I've personally been waiting for:

    https://x.com/nickdemarco_/status/1843334109122134278

"As is often the case with lawyers, both sides have declared victory. The truth is somewhere in between, with each side winning on different issues. The fact, however, that parts of the PL’s APT Rules have been declared unlawful is significant. Just a few days after the European Court found parts of FIFA’s RSTP were unlawful, and coming not long after the ESL case in Europe (finding FIFA and UEFA rules to be unlawful), and the decision of an FA Rule Arbitral Tribunal that The FIFA and FA’s cap on football agents fees was unlawful, the case represents another example of the increasing tendency of courts and tribunals to hold sports regulators to closer scrutiny than has previously been the case the – in particular where economic activity is involved and where issues of freedom of movement and competition law arise. In addition, some of MCFC’s ‘wins’ in the APT case were based on English public law principles of procedural fairness."

I'm not convinced it's open season for Newcastle, but I'm very confident it'll make a big difference and speed up the clubs growth.

Am I right in saying PL clubs like us can seek compensation from the PL for any deals unfairly ruled out by the PL since Dec 2021?
