I particularly enjoy listening to big 6 fans saying it'll be unfair if Newcastle and city can spend more money than them and the fabric of football will be destroyed No it won't it'll just mean interesting changes the foreign market will enjoy. If they're such great clubs it's kinda weird that they can't handle not being the only clubs allowed to buy success.
It’s all still as clear as mud but looks unlikely to benefit us much. The issue with shareholders loans at many clubs will be very interesting though and could hit them which indirectly benefits us.
It appears that the PL won on the issue of having the rules so are likely to retain rules. The problem they have is that the rules they have actually put in place are unlawful and how that is dealt with could be a massive bombshell.
I read it also that the PL have to show evidence why they think a deal breaks the rules and also give the club a chance to respond to that
What I'd say to this is in line with what I've said elsewhere. The PL under Richard Masters is a bloody disgrace. They want everything done behind closed doors so all the corruption and shady ****e doesn't come out in public. They always say they can't comment and won't comment on anything until they get yet another arse whooping and then they constantly come out with their own version of events. NUFC state Takeover is completed / PL say it's only completed because we got legally binding assurances to save face. The truth there was NUFC in legal terms had performed a Dudley death drop through a table. The result was PL lost. Leicester state they have won their case against PL. PL say they really won the case but only lost on a technicality. The result was the PL lost. Man City state they have won their case against PL. PL say they won the case but only lost 2 points of law despite then mentioning 8 points of law they lost on. The result was PL lost . PL now call an emergency shareholders meeting to change the rules that they ****ing lost on. Having not read the entire thing and picking up various points. My understanding is The legal ruling is if the PL want to continue the APT rules it has to bring shareholder loans into account with PSR?????? It must also start giving reasons as to why a deal was declined and must act in a far quicker manner. In addition to this I'm sure I've read somewhere that a call was made that certain clubs can now file lawsuits against the PL for loss of earnings. They then require 14 clubs to vote through the rules or amendments. In which case that would mean 14 clubs losing a **** ton of financial clout from their PSR budgets. With then NUFC/MCFC/NFFC/LCFC/CHELSEA/EVERTON/ all against the bloody rules in the first place and Spurs with a high chance of getting Middle Eastern investment coming through the door very soon.

Exactly and the Premier League using that to save face. The court hasn't disagreed with the idea of regulation on APT, but they have found the rules in breach of competition law. The Premier League isn't allowed the rules they wanted, so they lost. They can’t simply add a few rules like they're claiming, because the clubs have to vote and they have to be lawful in the 'third' place. It's unlikely they'll get 14 votes for anything overly restrictive now.
Having read various sources I’m inclined to think that the rules will be slightly amended. That we may get some more leeway on commercial deals but nothing ground breaking. That deals will be approved quicker. That the loans (shareholder) value itself will not form part of the PSR calculations. But interest on them will be at probably a base rate amount. And it will not be back dated either. All in all I don’t see this as ground breaking for us.
It depends what you mean by ground breaking ... if you mean Newcastle can just start sponsoring the canteen for huge over inflated amounts then definitely not. However it does offer a potentially strong position in a vote which is going to decide this and will undoubtedly loosen up the noose that been around the clubs neck regarding sponsorship in general. The Premier League can't simply slightly change things! The rules have to 1. Get a vote of 14 and 2. They have to be legal. Turkey's aren't going to vote for Christmas twice! They panicked after our takeover, but now plenty of those clubs have their own psr issues and need to free themselves up too.
I find it very enlightening that the same ****houses that cry so hard about fairness and rules seem to be casually brushing the courts findings under the carpet and instead telling themselves its all nothing to worry about. Nothing to see here just a simple change required! I've not seen one of them asking questions about the Premier Leagues repeated unlawful actions.
Depends they will have to vote on new rules so we will probably hear a few things within the next month. Today we'll get people peddling the fact the courts supported the overall principles of the APT rules and then they'll realise the PL can't just simply change a part of the rule because the clubs have to vote and everything has changed for the clubs since the last vote. I personally don't think they'll get 14 votes on anything as restrictive as the last set of rules because more and more clubs are starting to want them out the way as much as possible. The clubs will want more freedom now imo. We will see though like you say.
Problem the PL have with not backdating those payments is that they have been told that the rules should have included them so every club punished under those rules or who had to sell players to pass them (everyone) have been penalised by a rule deemed in court as unfair.
