Win ugly is OK by me. Not the best of performances but happy with the 3 points. Will have to play better on Friday night but let's enjoy the 3 points and concentrate on that game from tomorrow. Great strike jobe and a lovely bit of football for the 2nd goal. On we go.
Bouncing at the season we're currently having, no wonder I can't my blood pressure down! Think Jobe has brought another level to the way he's playing this season https://www.safc.com/news/2024/october/01/jobe-on--fortress--stadium-of-light/
I can honestly say not one boo was heard where I was, and talking in the sheepfolds after nobody mentioned it.
I'm not sure we 'won ugly' tbh, it was more like a tough game against a typical L1 outfit. Some of the football was lovely and we had quite a few moves where we played out of defence and ended up with an attempt at goal. The second goal, if I recall, was played out of defence and five passes later Isidor scored the second. Of course we had to match Derby's physicality but we didn't drop down to their level, I think that's a lesson we learned at Plymouth. Every game is a battle, sometimes you just have to take the rough with the smooth.
When Rusyn came on for Wilson I was having a bit of a moan, but he was a proper terrier - chasing down balls and causing problems for their defenders. If that is his role in the squad, and he's happy to stay on that basis then so be it.
Fantastic win last night, even if not quite at our best. Huge 3 games coming up now. Leeds, Hull, Luton. As RLB would say, it will be very ‘interesting’ so see where we sit after this run.
That really seems like the way he's working. He talks often about the players learning from experience. It's a mindset shift for all of us I think. The subs thing, the repetition of systems that 'aren't working'. The tendency of fans will always be to pull the ripcord and change things immediately. I include myself in that and it's probably something we should unlearn to a fair extent. It's as good a way forward as overloading the players with a million changing instructions - probably better. It's just a shame that it will inevitably be used as a stick to beat RLB if the form ever gets bad.
Pathetic anyone booing our players I can understand it if a player is just walking about the pitch n not giving his all but to boo a lad that gives 100% is embarrassing - they aren't true fans imo I'm all for folk venting on forums like this but get behind the team at games, not sure what they are trying to achieve by booing one of our players. He was very solid last night, and did exactly what you want a CDM to do, just keep it simple and win his battles - he did both
I was in north stand, u must have ears like a bat mind m8, not a one could I hear, and like I say got a good few mates in premier and west last night, none of them mentioned it, must have been the odd dickhead, imho they should get a slap that would knock a bit of sense into them.
I thought he started poorly but grew into the game, you could say the same for most of the side last night. I was a bit nervous until that first goal went in, no worries at all after that. Comfortable.
A Derby supporter saying he was concerned about getting to his seat because the lights kept going on an off Right, off to work.
