Sorry to hear. After spending 8 hours at an and e today as the palliative nurse wanted to check we weren’t missing something that could be treated with my husband, nothing has changed. Could only do this route as both oncology and palliative wouldn’t see him until at ct head scan was done. All the changes are due to end of life although we don’t know when that will be but I suppose at least we know.
Hoping Philip is comfortable and having an ok quality of
Life. The medical staff everywhere are wonderful people and so underrated till we need them

I’ve worked for a pharmacy delivering EOL to families, I now work for a local Age UK who have an EOL team and I see daily what families go through. If you’re offered help Heidi by the teams, please take it, even if it allows your mind to take a rest for 5 minutes.

Eire too, I see dementia every day, it’s the families that suffer more than the patient, I also see how quickly it changes a person. Take every second enjoying your grandsons company mate, watching Leeds with you he’ll hold those memories forever

Been a **** year here too unfortunately. Had to admit my dad to nursing home in March due to onset of dementia. He’s now at later stage, doesn’t know any of us so visiting him every second day is tough going. He’s alive but living about 40 years ago. Life can be so cruel and football is so poor it isn’t even a. Distraction
Can only echo the sentiments given to Heidi and Marcos, best wishes to you and your family. We should all try to make football a welcome distraction rather than letting it affect our mood.

Thank you. Got him to Whitby yesterday but changed his oncology appointment to a phone call today as he couldn’t stand on his own and it was a struggle with two of us. Again they were perplexed at how quick he has deteriorated and asked for him to go in to the ward for further tests. This is what they tried to do on Monday to get him on a ward but we agreed. Left him when I’d to take my daughter to pick up my granddaughter. He only went and fell banging his head whilst I was gone. His processing issues means he just acts as normal on impulse without realising he can’t do it anymore.
