For the third year running, the club have again kindly agreed to support this Christmas lark, which used to run on the old 606.

So now´s your chance ´nots´, for all those who´re itching to try their hand at a limerick with a Canary flavour, it can be anything at all, as long as it´s Canary related.

The three I deem the best, and most worthy, will be given pride of place in a home match day programme, yet to be decided by the club, sometime early in the new year.

You know the sort of thing...

There once was a young man from Swaffham
Who enjoyed cakes so much he´d scoff ´em,
Before you could say
" Do have a cake, pray "
It took years to encourage him off ´em.

Now that´s NOT Canary related, at least I don´t think it is, but I´m sure you can think of plenty that is.

**This is intended as a ´fun thread´ to be enjoyed by everyone, both Canaries and any non-Canaries who happen to pop in, so please bear that in mind when participating.**

Thanks, and may the very best limericist, if there is such a thing, win.

Deadline for entries, Christmas Eve 10 pm

So, over to you, and best of luck

rbf

Can I just add, this is for the pleasure of us all, any attempt to spoil the thread will be deleted!

Have fun everybody, I'll add mine when I get home!

<cheers>

A Star Striker called Hucks,
Was earning big Bucks,
When for Norwich he turned up to play,
His love for the Club saw him take four pay-cuts,
For in yellow he wanted to stay.

And now he's retired,
His contract expired,
A true Legend I really must say,
You'll still see him around The Carrow Road ground,
Cheering on the boys on a Matchday.

Not bad for a first ever attempt at a limerick eh RBF ? (If I say so myself ) .... <ok>....

LIVING THE DREAM!

The team play in patterns that look very pretty
They take no prisoners, they show no pity,
Our beautiful team
Is living the dream,
And we all sing "On the ball City!"

OH WHAT A TEAM!

This young and hungry team will bond,
As Lambert waves his magic wand
This talented man
Has more than one plan,
Of him we are all very fond

HIGH FLYERS!

We've achieved so much in such a short time,
The style of our play is awsome, sublime!
We are a trend setter,
Our play will get better,
For they have not yet reached their prime

kickitoff - I was just about to say the same as dave. I hope for heavens sake, neither you or anyone else will feel put off, if your first effort isn´t spectacular. You should have seen some of my first efforts at verse, when I first became hooked, all those years ago. <doh> Dire!

Glenn Roeder was sat on a bucket,
His d*ck was so long he could suck it,
He said with a grin,
As he wiped off his chin,
If my ear was a c*nt I would f*ck it !

I bet that one doesn't make the matchday magazine ! ........<laugh>

I'm sure I already posted some on here, but I can't see them. One was my daughters'......yes Dave, i know it was far better than my efforts <shamedemoticon>

The thread you posted on was telling you that this thread was coming up on the 1st of December! If you want to find it you'll have to delve into the old posts! Happy hunting!
