It was a dull game, truth be told,
We were struggling to break the mould,
But Jackson's header was loaded,
Fratton Park exploded,
And on promotion we had a hold.

On the Ball City!

Mr Paul Jewell, the prat
In Delia's office he sat
To him she was Venus
So he pulled on his penis
Then caught all the drops in his hat !

Coat ..........................................:bandit:

Yes, I can see that one going down well in a match day programme :embarrassed:, and just when I thought we were turning the corner too, oh well. Still, the good thing kickitoff, is that there´s a couple of weeks yet to come up with something that´s suitable.

I´m sure you can <cool>

On the ball City, you hear the cry.
As out lads set out to do or die.
The crowd erupts as City score,
One up and the chant is . . . we want more,
As up the league the Canaries fly.

This may well be too long to be considered, but i thought Id post it to see what folks thought. <dons steel helmet to take flak>

The year was 2009.
We’d come to the end of the line.
We were in the 3rd tier,
We had plenty to fear,
Then along came PL, just in time.

The year was 2010.
We were one league down from the prem.
We managed the double,
Over the Town, no trouble
At the end of that season, we were in heaven.

Now we’re back in the prem, how will we do?
Pretty well I’m sure, with PL and his crew.
Whether we win, lose or draw,
The lads could not have given more.
What a great day, when PL joined us from Col U.

That's too good for you! Put your daughter's name on it you scoundrel!

<laugh>

It's a "bootiful" sight
To see Holt in full flight
Defenders all looking askance.
On goal he continues his advance
And gives the poor goalie a fright.

RBF bor, we owe this bloke a lot, I think he should already be in our Hall of Fame.

too cold to go outside so here goes :-

we're on the ball with city
trying to pen something witty
we're in the top flight
to delias delight
watching the binners with pity

Who will be in the side that Lambert goes to name?
Who is in and who is out of the frame?
No-one knows if he'll make any changes this week
As three points the canaries seek
On their quest to win another game

The Canary message to every side
No matter how hard they've tried --
"Eleven Canutes
In football boots
Won't hold back the Carrow Road tide"

With money so tight few'd have thought
That the players our manager bought
Would prove themselves able
To keep us mid-table
Thank you lads for the good times you've brought

Though only eleven can play
Our squaddies show day after day
That when called upon
As a sub to come on
They're all equally up for the fray!

RBF....I have to say my daughter has just put me to shame.
She's Junior Canary and she's 8.
She's asked me if she could have a go and this is what she came up with..........

PL is the best manager of all
When City win, we have a ball.
And if we lose,
There won’t be many boos
With PL in charge, we will rule all.

Nation's Favourites

Paul Lambert has masterminded a creation,
That has enthralled the entire nation,
All you can hear
Is the neutrals who cheer,
Along with the Canaries in elation.

Our football is a breath of fresh air,
There is talent in abundance and flair,
Its the sum of our parts
That's warming our hearts,
Making others stop, take notice and stare.

Yet at times our defense has been naive,
But the team always seems to achieve,
Pouring out their soul
In search of a goal,
Like a magician pulling a card from his sleeve!

Hey ho ! Hey ho !
Against our foes we go.
Three points to seek,
To make our week,
And send their spirits low.

Would sound bootiful if sung from the stands during a match whenever we score. LOL.

Pure legend, that is our Grant Holt,
He's a man who sure knows his salt!
The ball in the net he will put,
With head, or right or left foot
He gives all defenders a jolt! <yikes>

That´s it I´m afraid, deadline for entries is now passed, but thanks to everyone who decided to have a go. I´ve already chosen the three, and it wasn´t easy, I can tell you. I´ll post the verdict on Boxing Day, as I´ll be off the boards tomorrow.
