Little dogs. What’s the point? The top image is of Chaos, our Husky, sadly no longer with us. He was a proper mutt. Friendly as you like but with attitude of a dog that said I’ve got you sussed so don’t screw with me.
The bottom one is Lola, who we’re looking after for three weeks. It’s a Jack Russell crossed with a chihuahua and a bad tempered little cow with smelly breath. It pisses on disposable absorbent pads. At least it ****s outside. I’d never be cruel or nasty to it but I’m hoping it’ll go away if I ignore it.

My daughter has one, a jackawawa.
Lovely little dog, so friendly, I love her to bits.
She also has an American Bulldog ( not a bully xl), also a lovely dog.
I doubt you could get a more mis-matched pair of dogs, but they get on like a house on fire.
This is them together....

My eldest had hers a couple of weeks ago too, she struggles with separation anxiety when she's not here or her mam's. I was up most of the night expecting a call to pick her up.... thankfully she had a great time.

Just sat putting all the school dates into the calendar..got to year 6 leavers party and preparations for leaving school... proper lump in my throat. Have to do it all again in 2 years for my youngest daughter!

Time is a going way too fast.

Aye it does mate, sometimes I look at them and it takes me by surprise how tall they are, tend to think of them as being about knee high.

I've been living back in the North East coming up for 7 years (in November). In that time our daughter has:
  • Completed 2 years of secondary school
  • 2 years of College
  • Found a job
  • Passed her driving test
  • Bought a car
  • Found a boyfriend who she loves
  • Been to many countries on holiday alone with him
  • Saved enough money to buy a house
  • Moved out
Long winded but enjoy their youth as you will one day wake up and they've gone

Kids off school for a week soon so a few hidden gems to visit. ? The North Dock Tufa and plenty haven't seen it. It's enclosed in the main building in the marina near the reception. Ring up to make sure its on view.

For a run out there's an ancient tree forest near Amble only discovered in 2014. The more the tides roughed it up the more you can see. Easy to park at Low Hauxley and straight onto the beach .

One year without an alcoholic drink.

Hardest day was my sons wedding in August, could have had a few that day.
Two stone lighter, but still got two kidneys.

Still not going to have one till i've donated a kidney, hopefully get a match end of October.
One whole year, the things you do for your loved ones eh.

Amazing example of life priorities , hope that match is going to happen for you both in October. I’ll stand you a pint ( Grey Horse?). when you’re supping again .

Mate, you have my utmost respect. Next time I’m in the UK and Sunderland I’m buying you a pint…..assuming you’ve donated!!

Well done Snaggey, our son in law had heart scares nearly 3 years ago and decided to give up the alcohol and he's still sticking to it.
He'll happily have alcohol free alternatives when we go out, got to admire him.

Thanks for the feedback all, it's a part of Durham (everything immediately west of Durham City) that I'm not too familiar with, I have lived in south west Durham and in one of the A1 corridor towns near Sunderland before, but the houses and streets in Lanchester always looked quite nice, in contrast with Consett or Stanley, for example.

I grew up in Lanchester. Lovely place. Good community (ies), schools, countryside and close enough to everywhere.

not sure which pubs are still going these days, been a while since I’ve been back there.

It has yes . I didn’t mention as not a “ pub” as such. . I’ve only heard one comment , which wasn’t favourable. I hope it works though , as it used to be a good place to go and hope I’ll be going again

I was gonna ask if Crinnions ‘wine bar’ was still going. I went once about 10 years ago.wasnt sure what to make of it, but clearly a popular spot..

I used to go to Consett most weekends as a young un but occasionally would stay in the village and drink primarily in the Black Bull, back in the day when you had a pool table and the occasional lock in. - this was the mid 89s to early 90s, mind. Start at the Kings Head, then Queens Head for a pint with me dad. Sometimes pop into the Bluebell, usually not!, then the Black Bull.

Rarely went to the social club, which played host to a few infamous nights with a pissed-up John Kay.

Cricket club would sometimes stay open for a few socials but no idea if it is still going. Hope so.

Anyway, trip down memory lane for me
