This isn’t necessarily true. On several occasions, we managed to build up successfully from the back and beat the opposition’s press according to Walter’s principles but the final ball was dogshit almost every time and when the final ball was decent, the finish was dogshit. In the first half, Bedia ran with the ball and could’ve played in Belloumi 1-on-1 with their keeper and in another passage of play Mehlem ran with the ball on the break and we were 4v3; had his pick of Kamara, Bedia and Belloumi to play through on goal but took an extra touch like a dickhead and lost the ball. There were more than enough chances for us to score tonight but the final pass or finish was atrocious.
This isn't a new issue though. It's something we've struggled with for a long time with a long list of players.
I thought Sheff Utd struggled with their final ball too, there were a fair few examples where they'd have been in had that final ball been right.
