it doesn’t take itself 100% seriously. But based on a true story I believe. It’s a mix of guy Richie styles without being good at any. Easy watching ‘action’
Nah just watch the Rogue Heroes version that doesn't take itself seriously either and seems the better option.
Rings of Power ep.5 First semi decent one in one and a half seasons. Mostly because the producers have worked out that trying to follow seven story arcs is maddening, especially when three of them are boring. Stuck to three arcs this time instead of jumping all over the place, and did a lot of work to make one of the most boring (Numenor) a lot more intriguing.
The Bear season 3 - 8.3 Was probably on course to giving it a 9 (think I scored season 2 around a 9 or very close) but the last two episodes just felt a bit flat and lacked a proper season ending vibe for me. Still quality for the majority though.
Just started watching the Turkish Detective on Iplayer, know nowt about it, first 10 mins seem ok...I liked Inspector Montalbano so it seems similar to that but in Istanbul. Although I'm confused who the detective is supposed to be, the guy who's flown in or the cab driver lol. Although the cab driver seems more savvy.
Damaged - even Samuel L couldn’t raise this above a 7.. 22 Miles - decent espionage thriller - borders an 8
So the cab driver was an eccentric inspector of a homicide unit that the younger British detective has gone to join in Istanbul. I thought it was going to be a different story every episode but seems to be a rolling story. Watched the first episode and beginning of the second episode which I will run again because my lad came round. Don't know how your scoring works but I'll give it a 7 mainly because I like the old guy (inspector). he makes the show for me, rather than the stupid Brit. The old Inspector smokes absolutely everywhere which is even unusual in shows today, but it gives you the feel of the atmosphere and the relaxed nature of the whole set. It reminds me of another cop show but can't think what at the moment, where you get two cops who have totally different approaches to catching people but come to the same end result.
Watched the last Grand Tour, decent enough. Always enjoyed them since they left Top Gear. Clarkson is an arse but I watch ensuring he does I dunno..
My memory is terrible with tv stuff, but I did like Life on Mars, so maybe it was, because it;s rare for me to sit and watch something, funnily I was originally thinking Sweeney so the period of time would be right, but NOT the Sweeney because that was just too OTT.
