A lot of Rajović’s criticism, I believe, was because we were, until this season, asking him to be a Thierry Henry, break-at-pace striker. But he’s Malcolm McDonald.
Fair point. In days past, Bobby Bell and Ken Nicholas were full backs; Mickey Benning and Freddie Bunce were wingers. Today we have wing backs who are expected to do both roles to some extent. There are very few goal hangers, as we used to call them, as they are expected to do so much more.A lot of Rajović’s criticism, I believe, was because we were, until this season, asking him to be a Thierry Henry, break-at-pace striker. Yeah, I agree, ofh, but ultimately if his primary job is goal-scoring and he can deliver on that, I would accept non-ability to do other things the same as I would accept a centre-back who stops nearly all opponents scoring but isn’t the greatest passer. Besides, I think Rajović did his bit to support, it’s just he couldn’t break at speed. Sort of expecting a carthorse to be able to pull the cart and win point-to-point.Fair point. Good bounce back from last week .Two goals in three minutes from Nabizada and Adu-Poku made the final score 4-1.
