I think what's happening at sevco is a good thing for them, downsizing to live within their means, it should have happened 12 years ago, the overspending to stay in Celtics rearview mirror wasnt sustainable.
They can now start building the solid foundations for the future with no expectations of challenging Celtic, just need to find a decent manager with a good system and eye for a cheap player, and they might be in time to try to stop the next bid for 10.
The galling thing must be that the gamble paid off with Gerrard, years of overspending, share issues etc, they won the league, got to solid European level, CL money, big player sales etc, that was the time to reign it in and consolidate, but they just kept gambling on a massive wage bill.
They thought they were back as the dominant team in scotland again and Celtic would collapse like a pack of cards, and they were right, because packs of cards dont collapse, houses of cards do.
It was one gamble too many and they blew all their winnings on dominos, they're now staring at chicken and mushroom for the foreseeable but it could be worse, C&M is underrated.
