Jesus, calm down.

I don't claim to know any of the specific reasons players have turned us down, though some have been reported and yes it's the reasons you've alluded to. I just said it was incredible to have so many players publicly known to have turned us down in that one position. I don't think that's even a remotely controversial thing to say and I've no idea why it would offend you and Howden so much.

The change of manager is the most obvious factor to point to yes, but it's done. I think there are things players would like about Walter, the play-style notably, but I think outside of Hull and Germany he's a complete unknown which probably means he has a disadvantage from the start when competing against teams like Middlesbrough and Coventry for a player. I do think that's a concern and a shame when we finished above them both last season. There was no reason we should've fallen behind them again.

I certainly feel Liam was very instrumental in persuading British based players to join us, and that has been missed.

You've definitely not offended me, I just made counter points that disprove your points.... Funny I thought that was the purpose of a forum.

Nobody is saying it was/wasnt the correct decision. Just saying that it is harder to attract players with a foreign coach with no pedigree in the English game
I don’t believe that for one minute
Players move because the agent persuades them to via financial encouragement
Some cases a player will move nearer to home etc or at the end of their career

I see zaha didn’t enjoy turkey!
Brilliant player but why go there?
Oh ye money

Klopp was a foreign coach with no pedigree in the English game. He attracted players.

It’s best not to give it too much thought. This is a livelihood for players at our level. They need to make every penny they can because most of them will have to keep working in some way after retiring.

Players of course can be drawn to a manager, of course, young players especially. But ultimately what’s put on the table in negotiations will have the biggest say, which is likely what happened with Moore, BTA, Cannon and so on

Of course some players will factor in who the manager is when deciding to join a club
or the style of play or "the project"

Others might just go for the biggest wage regardless of anything else

Also
Even if the financial packages are similar
They may believe on team has a higher chance of promotion than another

If youre not a city fan
And from some random town down south or wherever

Boro and coventry did seem more promotion probable on the outside right?
For example

Spot on. They’ve both started the season shaky unlike most expected though. Boro have arguably had an easier start than us too.

Thats the beauty of this league
Realistically you could say we could finish playoffs or 16th
And same for 3/4 of the teams
Love it
The league has started in a manner that if things click abit more after the break we are within touching distance of the top half just because of everyone’s inconsistency

Theres alwaya teams that start well that drop off massively mid way through
And vice versa

We just need to take the lead in a game
It will do the players the world of confidence
Must be hard mentally never taking a lead in a game since april
