According to Radio Humberside:- Folan's move to Colorado Rapid to be completed in the next few days. No fee will be involved. He will be always remembered as our first million pound man.
It's a permanent, rather than a loan then? Considering the money he was on, it's fantastic if we've got him permanently off the wage bill.
He was always a bit "meh" wasn't he? However, I'm not going to be as ignorant as to criticise him for being constantly injured as others most likely will do...
During our promo year when he came of the bench he always had the swagger of a bloke who was going to score. Never quite worked out why he did not become a strong player in the prem. Met him at the Cottingham HQ once and he was a genuinely nice bloke. Happy to stop his car a sign autographs. Feel he may of underachieved.
If the American team sign him permanently then that's fantastic news. His deal with us doesn't run until 2012 so to fly him out with a one way ticket is ideal. Folan was decent in our promotion year but never proved himself in the Premier League. Last season he started the first 4 games and was diabolical - Browny put him on the naughty step and he never really came back from that. Found his performance at Barnsley hilairious though, limping around looking like a fool for half an hour was quality viewing. Much better than that paticular game anyway
I would be more inclined to any notice of what you say about Folan's performances if you had actually gone to the games you refer to. For example our first premiership game was away at Chelsea and Folan was superb up front by himself against Terry and Cavahlio..just look at any report...and yes you do seem to be easily amused
Only four more pieces of deadwood left on the books if he goes, Ghilas, Mcshane, ***an, and Kilbane. He did score that great goal against W.B.A. away in the promotion season so will remember him for that, not for the fact that he was a 6foot fairy sicknote.
...and yes Folan came on and scored the winner in our first home premiership game against Fulham...another game you obviously missed..
Remember the 5-1 home loss to Spurs when he started? Oh and the game at home to Sheff Utd this season, when Folan's number came up to be taken off and the City fans sarcastically cheered almost as one? It's pretty clear he has vastly underachieved and disappointed since he has been here No I'm pretty sure I was there. Never scored for us again - also worth mentioning
Also, get your facts right. Our first Premiership away game was at Blackburn in 2008. Chelsea was the first game of the 2009/2010 season...
City 1 Spurs 5: Jermain Defoe hat trick, Stephen Hunt scored a 35 yard free-kick for the Tigers. Cousin taken off early and refuses to shake Browny's hand City 0 Sheff Utd 1: Mark Yeates (former City loanee) scores a second half winner for Sheff U and celebrates with the away fans. Folan taken off as part of triple substitution by NP Care to question me now TWF's brother??
