Newcastle United can confirm that winger Ryan Fraser has departed the club and joined Southampton on a permanent deal,”

“Fraser, who spent last season on loan at St Mary's, made 59 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies following his arrival from AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2020.”

No thankyou, best wishes, good luck, All the best.

They really need to let me take over that account. mine would hae just said "Off you ****, ya wee bawbag"
I think that might just be the reason why you're not in charge of club PR. Just a hunch.

Overall, a fairly **** transfer window.

But, on the plus side, we've kept Bruno, Isak and Gordon, who some were suggesting would move on this summer.

Yeah the ungrateful turds should be pleased about that. Not a selling club..

Yeah, those ungrateful turds.

I seem to recall you being the main one suggesting (many times) that Bruno would go this window and that Gordon had his head turned by Liverpool.

Exactly I'm surprised... keep saying it but I always expect the worst and I'm therefore only ever encouraged by any pluses.

You can't teach it.

In the context of the stuff I've read today, it all makes a lot of sense. There's no "power struggle", the strategy has been consistent and for the most part successful. I don't think that alone is lost on the market, and I think the element of surprise has been lost - when Newcastle now say "I want your player", the owning club now realises that they have a ****ing gem on their hands.

Olise is a sensational player. We were just incredibly unlucky that Kompany went to Bayern. Him, Isak and Gordon? Jesus. We then looked around, were likely quoted mental prices for the reason mentioned and settled on Guehi. If we're making reasonable assumptions, we could well have asked if players like Bastoni were available and been quoted £100m, or been told by his agent to go away. Elanga isn't a regular starter for Forest and failed at Man U - he may have worked, but for £50m or money plus Barnes it's too risky.

We're not trying to be Brighton or Chelsea. We're trying to be incredibly stable, retain our players and win ****. We have made a few tweaks this Summer, Bruno is captain, players are being managed out where possible and contracts will run down. PSR is now gone. In 9 months time, some players will be worth it, but the vast majority won't. West Ham have a propensity for bulk buying and hoping one or two work out. Everton tried that and look where they are. Plus that's not how Mitchell operates, and it isn't the framework we adopted before his arrival either.

It's frustrating for everyone, but I now get it. We all need to relax, we're not going down anytime soon and we will get there.

Forest sign another player.
How? Just how?
No idea how many players that is in the last 2 - 3 seasons. Must sailing close to PSR regs yet again?

Sterling to Arsenal seems bonkers given their current squad.

Has anyone.else ever played for Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal at top flight level?
