Both would've been nice but I'm the type of guy that saves a waits for what i want. This is the same thing.. they are waiting for the players they want.. . No b c or d option... it'll be worth it in the long run.
There was so much work that had to go into saving us from relegation that we're currently paying the credit card payment off in terms of these players now regressing with age and having no resale value. Its as simple as that. 2 years of large profits will see a monster shop eventually. I just hope they don't go spend over the top in January now.
Exactly next summer the 1st 2 years have dropped off . They'll have hundreds of millions available without even selling

The problem is that the Premier Leagues intention is to sneak in a new system that will replace the 3 year rule... the intended squad cost ratio will remove the opportunity to let a year or 2 drop off. Hopefully they don't vote it in or it's not in before this time next year.

Gordon was overpriced at the time - but we've turned him into a £80m player. Bruno - £35m to £100m. Isak £63m to £120m. Botman's probably £50m+. Those aren't easy to find and it's getting ever more competitive. Chelsea hoover up, but they're playing the amoritisation game as they are selling for more or less the same, sometimes less. For me, the conversations in the next weeks are "right, Eddie, the squad still needs trimming and whilst you get leeway because we haven't added Guehi or Olise, you need to work out how to get Barnes and Gordon on the pitch, how to get them getting the best from Isak, how to get better control of the game, how to get the best out of Tonali/Bruno, how to keep players fit and show us you can do all that and get top 8. As a reminder, if we'd added Olise and Guehi, your minimum would be CL qualification. You get a couple of places grace. Now show us you're the right man". In a way, I hope he does, because we ALL win. But if he doesn't, change will be quick and ruthless.
