Not bothered by this. We need more signings like this. Players that help us but also are going to be really sought after. It’s sucks that this is the way it is but it is the way it is. And doing a good job of it is one of the big reasons for the now enormous gulf between us and Brighton
A bye in the 2nd round; seeded in the 3rd round. 4th round let's give them all a 1-0 head start.
**** it; let them all go straight to the QF’s & the “lesser” clubs can fight over the remaining spot or two.

One thing I noticed was that when he got into a crossing position, he never once looked up to see where anyone was…so frustrating!

It’s such a shame as he is so talented at beating his man. He works so hard too.

He’s one I want to keep; I just think we need to prioritise his development by sending him on loan and bringing in someone PL ready

Judging by Russell Martins post match comments

- Absolutely toothless 0-1 loss by the first team in the PL = :emoticon-0100-smile

- Thrilling 5-3 win by the second string featuring some very promising younger players = :emoticon-0121-angry

Suspect it’s back to plan A at the weekend.

That was a totally mental, batshit and a really really fun game. We had the best possible view of Brees screamer. That's the striker problem sorted.

Fernandes looked class, and big Les is definitely going to become a fan favourite. (Rule #452 of football, never fall in love with a loan player.)
Archer took his chances well and I enjoyed watching Dibling get more minutes under his belt. Yes the defence was ****, but I'd much rather win 5-3 then 2-0.

Really really enjoyed that.

We were all just discussing that the flair had gone out of football and everything now is too controlled. Well, last night was all flair and very little control - which is why Martin wouldn't have liked it.

I think we need a bit more flair in our team as we are so controlled premier league oppositions will have no issues seeing what we are trying to do. Fernandes has to play for me and I hope that is why he got subbed earlier. However, I think Martin will take longer to start changing things around.

My views on last night:

Fernandes will be a regular starter very soon. If not Saturday then certainly after the international break. Very, very excited about him. Lesley's a beast in midfield. Definitely think there's room for him and Downes in the line up.

The "He plays on the left, he plays on the right" song about Lallana can be made redundant now - his role is in the centre and he looked good. He's still got the vision and passing ability to be an asset on the pitch. Plus his composure and experience will be important when looking to see out games.

Great to see Archer bag 2 goals - both excellent finishes.

Edwards and Wood are still raw and last night will be a learning experience for them. Edozie needs a loan move to get more game time. He's just not good enough for PL football right now. SAA should be ahead of him in the pecking order.

It was very odd having a full away allocation and hardly any home fans. Definitely had the atmosphere of a pre-season friendly.

This is the first review of the game which doesn’t mention Dibling! Agree with your summary though.

Is Archer primarily left or right footed?
The first goal, with his left, packed some venom, which was great to see, whereas his right footed goal was all about precision.
I can picture Che trying to get the first one on to his right foot and losing the opportunity to shoot.

He’s a proper finisher. We just need to work out how best to use him.
