Another CB? Back in for 21 year old Will Fish from Manure. Apparently we were trying to do a deal in Jan that went Pete tong because of FFP. You do question why we're bringing in a 21 year old when we're loaning out a 22 year old of our own in Malachi. Another looking for 1st team football. Chambers came for 1st team football and I can't imagine us paying a couple million for Daland to sit on the bench. ( though we've done that with Turnbull - well £1.5M) Then there's Tsunoda. Can't say our recruitment looks very joined up. Hope someone has a plan. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-re-ignite-interest-29770617
Going to be a tough sell to see off the competition. I worry about forking out on another striker as we have a tendency to make them ineffective. That said, it might be a different story as our style evolves and to be fair, Meite isn't doing too well. So I've talked myself round and decided we should go for it
What we really lack is that "fox in the box" type of striker... One that doesn't stray too far from the goal and get distracted by passing, tracking back or pressing from the front.
We need to able to out the ball in that area first. Not very good at that. In fact with the oxygen sucker Ugbo it was more like 6 feet.
Knew you wouldn't be able to resist... TBF though, when you look at the stats over our two games, we've actually out performed our opponents in terms of possession and overall shots, with us equaling their shots on target too, yet here we are with a -7 goal difference. That would suggest that we actually ARE creating enough chances to win games but just not converting them (or keeping them out at the other end, which I would suggest is probably the bigger worry right now). EDIT: Now that Daland has signed, hopefully that will help...
One in, one out. Hopefully we're a few quid up on the deal. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ws/cardiff-city-star-mark-mcguinness-29777232
Just got chance to watch this. Good interview. Sounds level headed and committed. Let's see how he performs on the pitch. On the surface, seems a good signing.
Shame, but if he wanted to go and the economics make sense then it becomes a no brainer sadly. Clubs like us are in no position to turn down decent cash whilst holding back a player who wants to go.... Certainly couldn't afford to let him rot in the reserves and stand firm in order to keep him against his will. Hopefully Daland will fit our new style of play even more so and prove an instant hit. Cheers to Macca and good luck for his career apart from when it impacts us..
