This is the embarrassing stat. Other than Jobe, who have we paid money for recently thats been worth it??
Seelt, Triantis, Mundle and Mayenda will get there and prove good value imo

Rusyn, I really hope does well, but it's just not happening.

We need straight into the team striker, but it's getting painful waiting for one to appear

Hmmm who knows but its a risk weve taken spending money for the future rather than the present and we are not in a good place at all. Our average age against Southampton last season when they battered us in the 2nd game was 23. Our oldest player on Tuesday next to our 30 year old keeper was 23. Its really not acceptable at all. We are like an U23 team in alot of games playing against grown experienced professionals

I think everyone accepts we went too far last year on youth / players to develop and sell on.

This year we are trying to adjust that, but the fact is we don't have the cash unless we sell a player or 2. We all hope a striker comes in before the end of the window.

Its frustrating but it's the way it is these days unless we gamble financially and I don't believe the owners are gamblers in that respect

A few of those fees are inflated and I’d argue that Jobe, Seelt, Mundle and Mayenda are all likely to be good signings. Triantis and Aouchiche still decent chance of being good. At present Rusyn, Pembele, Hjielde and Hemir look less likely but are all still young as is Bennette. It’s not been immediate impact quality but it’s nowhere near embarrassing with exception of CF.

Can't help thinking we've been here before. We're messing this up and the other talent will be moved on soon. Have to find another Neil and Ballard for the next attempt.

Its a Peterborough mentality. Buy young and cheap, sell for a profit, repeat.

Sorry not how i like to see my club run

Understandable how itchy the fanbase is at the moment, can't speak to a Sunderland fan without them mentioning "we just need a striker". It's been the topic for most SAFC conversations for nearly two years.

Worrying, that feeling that we are sleep walking into another deadline day, with this looming over our heads. I do think we will get there, I'm optimistic most of the time.
We’ll be fine when Mayenda smashes two home Sunday

I'm hoping we get the striker we need and go for it this season and can keep Neil and Ballard.

Neil's biggest selling point (apart from being a good player) is that he came through the ranks so any sale is 100% profit in the books.
