I know, because its simple.... when TW came I am sure that he had a list of players that he said I desperately want... and I suspect that Mehlam was not top of that list FFS Syd.. you'd cause an argument in an empty phone box...

So you're saying he's not as good as you expected. Thanks for finally clarifying. It was a very confusing post and others agreed. Not everything is an argument.

Makes you wonder why Acun and Tan bother with the brain team when half of Twitter and this board could do the job for a fraction of the price…

I do genuinely believe I could identify 10-15 strikers better than Burstow that are of a similar profile, age and market value in about a week <laugh>

I don't really get this comment as the brain team aren't very good
Personally I think this is just a false narrative that has arisen this summer. They’ve signed 40 players during Acun’s reign so far and there’s probably only 10 who I’d class as duds, but that includes the likes of Ebiowei and Vale who came with great reputations but flattered to deceive. Sinik, Woods etc were obvious mistakes but not every transfer works. I don’t think the brain team can be blamed for that.

They’ve definitely done more good than bad.

The small number of clips I’ve seen of Burstow look like he’s been played as a wide forward rather than a central striker. Is that correct? There’s not much to see in the obligatory YouTube compilations

There have been significantly more duds than successes unless you're peddling a false narrative

Barry Cooper suggesting there are more experienced names in the pipeline. Would imagine the club have seen the negative reaction so have allowed him to mention that as a bit of damage limitation

Is that why basically no one signed last year is still here?

We signed 18 players over the course of the season and 8 of those were loanees so was always going to happen. It might represent a lack of long term planning but I’d say last season was one of the best for top talent coming through the door. The brain team don’t control the finances.

**** me, 90% of us have never heard of Burstow before tonight.
I think I'll give him a few games with my own fully functioning eyes before I write him off.

Delap had a crap record before coming here. It might be that our way of playing, which is nothing like Sunderland (thank goodness), suits him far better.
