I'm not going to get dragged into a war of words with you.

I am happy to take people as I find them, I don't tarnish everyone with the same brush, you automatically have a hatred for anyone who supports Leeds, that's fine, it is your choice.

I was answering a direct question from one of your more intellectual supporters Nuggets, he might hate everything Leeds United too but at least he can have an adult conversation.

The thing is, I think you are certain relegation material, not because I want you to be, it's just an opinion. It's not a personal insult, you've been out a long time and the PL is different. If you stay up well done, it will be deserved, specially when the likes of Everton cheat their way to survival and go relatively unpunished.

What would a forum be without debate and opinion, if two people have a differing opinion one might prove to be right and the other wrong

Yeah, I'm not really sure why nuggets is giving you the time of day, but that's up to him.

"one of your more intellectual supporters" a childish dig in the same sentence as "adult conversation"

"What would a forum be without debate and opinion, if two people have a differing opinion one might prove to be right and the other wrong"?

I think you're confused about what an 'opinion' is, based on statements like "I think you are certain relegation material". It's not certain so it's utter nonsense and it's the same arrogant twaddle that Leeds fans were spouting last season. If you said "I think you are relegation material" then not too many Town fans would argue with that.

I see Leeds as guaranteed relegation candidates, the championship is a different beast to the Premier league. The first season is the easiest, if you don't get promoted the first season, you are screwed, doomed and years of misery will follow.

You've got to wonder what was going on in the background to persuade him his future lay away from PR.

I wonder if we were always going to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, and told we Hdlaky this.

I don’t mind ristac. Yes, he came over here last season giving it the big one with a few other Leeds fans. But to be fair to him, he was one of the first to congratulate us and held his hands up and admitted he’d underestimated the team. Let’s not forget, not all of us on here were convinced we’d keep the run going and it was certainly not a likely scenario that we’d achieve back-to-back promotions. It’s an impressive achievement.

I’m don’t think I’m the intellectual one in the group though haha!

Most of us enjoy the cheerful banter on forums, and even learn a thing or two.
Not sure who the intellects are but we are all passionate about our own Clubs.

This is my 65th year supporting Ipswich, and I am as excited about this season as in the Bobby Robson era. We might get walloped from time to time, but with time and a few more quality signings, we can hopefully surprise a few.

Let's enjoy the ride.

Bring on Liverpool!

I think we can all agree that Spanish has that particular area covered <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I think it's interesting that we've almost come full circle with KMc.When he came in one of his first tasks was to stiffen up the defence and make us more difficult to beat, from there we had a base to play more attacking football. With the greater challenges of the PL our defence is again the area needing most attention. And that means no disrespect to those who did so well last Season, just that the step up is going to be scary.
I suggested a few weeks back we might consider a back 3/5 and from last Saturday that looks a distinct possibility.

Squad numbers announced and it is surely telling that no one has been allocated 8 or 9. Signings on the way methinks

I can’t really get my head around all the focus on the defensive signings when we are so weak in midfield and in attacking areas. You tend to defend better by putting teams under pressure and having a threat and an outlet for the defence. Last year our biggest weakness was down the flanks and being vulnerable to switching the ball to areas we didn’t have covered. We could put Ferdinand and Vidic in central defence in this side and we would still concede loads of goals.

I know what you're saying about attack being the best form of defence but I'll trust KMc if he thinks we need to take a bit less gung-ho approach this Season.

A back three may mean we cut out some of the wider defensive frailties?

Whatever it's going to be a great (rollercoaster)experience!

COYB!!!

I don’t think it’s up to McKenna… it might just be that his list of defenders has players that are easier to obtain than the attackers. Top drawer forwards are a rare breed and much more expensive.

I did like the back three. I think we should play that way and stick with it until we have better forward options.

I think McKenna will go for a back three against Liverpool and Man City. As long as we’re not too defensive with three centre-backs, it’ll make us more solid than the defending we saw at times last season. We’re highly unlikely to win in an end-to-end game against those clubs. I trust in McKenna - we all know he’ll have a good gameplan in mind.

I fully expect us to switch to our “Championship system” in the more “winnable” games, such as the home match against Fulham. Those are the games we’ll need to be winning.

They have removed Hamer from the article. Just the CB which seems a bit odd as CM is surely the more important position but still trust the process. Looks like it will be Morsy and Luongo for the opener
