We don't even know what has happened yet, but I see the expected virtue-signalling has started from the usual shallow, opportunistic humbugs. 
They're betraying their middle class naivety too. Like Starmer, they assume others view prison like they do.
There are people around here who deliberately breach their bail or license conditions to get back inside. Prison is not much of a deterrent to them, as it's where their friends and family are. and where they understand the game. Some of those arrested would have ended up inside sooner or later for something anyway, and they simply accept that.
All that it's really doing is making starmer look weak and vindictive, and continuing the divides in society.
Until he mans up and actually addresses the problems, he has no chance of ending things.
He'll never resolve things, because he simply won't talk to people to find out what the questions that need addressing actually are. This is going to get worse as Sue Grey is already keeping him out of the loop in the issues that fall into her fiefdom.
He wouldn't have to consider being called racist.

Bet you creamed your pants when you saw that. Expect you'll cream them again when it's announced that the attacker has "mental health issues".
Most people just see that as being synonymous with islam. I don't think it's quite the win they'd like to think, especially when it's announced within a very short time, when clearly no meaningful assessment has been possible.
They are pretty much claiming islamists are nutters.
So you want to deport that guy? Does he deserve to be deported when he put his life on the line?
