That is ridiculous. A serious talent, for minimum fee. Sort of thing I hope we do in time. You must log in or register to see images
Seriously. Why do we not spend???
22/23:Who have they sold???..
Because they've sold more player for more money and haven't spent 4 seasons in L1 being asset strippedSo how do Boro afford that more than us? They paid 4m for a striker last season also??

22/23:
Djed Spence £14m
Marcus Tavernier £11m
23/24:
Chuba Akpom £12m
Morgan Rogers £9m
Martin Payero £3m
(Approximate fees)
Plus a few other lower fee sales.
£3.5m seems a lot for a lad who has barely played a first team game. He may be decent but he may struggle. You must log in or register to see images

We have sold players on an ongoing basis problem is that most of them did not generate big fees , recent sale of Ross Stewart being an exception. As a club and as a fanbase we can't be scared of selling players. As long as we do it properly and extract as much money as possible from the buying club it becomes an opportunity to grow.
I'm not advocating for selling everyone and going through a rebuild every summer, but nobody can tell me that this summer wouldn't have been a whole lot easier if we had sold someone and had money to play with.
We are competing for the same players against teams with parachute payments and other teams with money in the bank from sales. It's like bringing a water pistol to a gunfight.
We should be selling someone for a big fee every year. It's the only way to compete. We have sold players on an ongoing basis problem is that most of them did not generate big fees , recent sale of Ross Stewart being an exception.
Agreed. It's now about quality over quantity. We have a good squad, but a large squad. Ideally we see one big sale each summer and 2 or 3 quality improvements as a result. We should be selling someone for a big fee every year. It's the only way to compete.

Unfortunately we haven’t had good enough players in recent years that other clubs would want never mind pay a lot of money for , thankfully the present squad looks quite valuable but most of us want to keep our band of brothers together. Realistically to develop the team we will have to part with someone but we need to be quite shrewd and have players lined up for when the money drops .We should be selling someone for a big fee every year. It's the only way to compete.
We haven’t actually sold many, most have been released at end of contract or sold at a substantial loss. Stewart and Lihadji are about tge only real profit making sales since we were relegated from the premier league. We have sold players on an ongoing basis problem is that most of them did not generate big fees , recent sale of Ross Stewart being an exception.
