Talk Sport was excellent this morning... the voice of reason Darren McAnthony talking about all things transfers, ownership all of which resonates with this current situation. Tomorrow POSH announce a loan from Man City that was agreed 6 weeks ago but they weren't allowed to say anything and still aren't. Who's to say we are not in the same boat.

Because I don't think Walter would be being as vocal if he knew signings were imminent.

And despite all those roadblocks Posh have signed 10 players to our 2.

Where do Posh sign many of their players from. They are seen as a springboard for non league to greater things. If we're in that pool and had their scouts we may be up to 10 now. We aren't.

They pluck some of the best from L2 and NL and give them a chance to play. Having the stability of the owner and having had a decent spell of managers also helps.

I’m astounded that people think Acun shouldn’t be doing this. It’s not just this forum, but I’ve now checked others, as well as talking to other City fans, and there are too many whispers about where his intentions are.

Acun is absolutely right to come out and clarify things. He has also clearly seen the need to and fair play to him if it is just to settle us down. I suspect it’s more than that now and I guess we’ll know tomorrow. But this not knowing is causing unrest and as I’ve said before, unrest is the last thing we need ready to kick off a new season, on top of a depleted squad!

You should have called for a vote which he'd would have lost, oh ... :emoticon-0138-think

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Chris Needler held more shares than everyone else put together, plus the mysterious 'non voting shares' or what ever they were called. The person who held those controlled the club, as Don Robinson found out to his dismay.

Just seen the Q&A thread. Will copy and paste to there!

Norwich also agreed a loan for Doyle weeks ago but its only getting completed this week because he was needed for their pre season tour. I watched a few of their pre season games and they have some outstanding youngsters who could be available. Nico O’Reilly probably pick of the bunch

i remember those days well, you could pin him down sometimes and he usually gave you a tale of pending doom whilst wringing his hands like an old fashioned money lender, but did we believe him? Myself and a mate once bumped into him at the Mill in Skidy, he was sat enjoying a meal with an old lady, we said quite loudly, 'probably trying to re-write her will' He saw us, did a double take, pushed his plate aside and left. Didn't get the chance to pin him down that day. Once pinned down Buchanan outside Notts Countys ground too, after a league cup game ( we lost) He spoke to a couple of us for over an hour, with his minder glaring at us whilst looking at his watch. Every word he said turned out to be a lie. But we believed him on the night.

Was that when he was driving a Rolls Royce with a tax disc months out of date?

Hughes and Zambrano are the ones we need. That would be a great signal of where we are going.

You're totally right, they not only add quality (hopefully) but they show we're aiming for top young talent. Also shows we're willing to spend when the deal is right.

I think the problems this window are due to a few things; honestly missing out on targets for no fault of our own, being specific in players and their value to us, the window being slow in general and internal resource (Tan/Acun debate).
