He wasn't stabbed. He was hit by a blunt object being thrown. Staffordshire police have tweeted this.

Fair enough, I did say apparently! Wasn’t too sure just seen some videos of a large mob chanting with knives and bats etc in the same area.

This thread is a bit of a microcosm of what's happened. Initial sense of disbelief at the slaughter of children, quickly followed by speculation and innuendo about the assailant, then disinformation, and finally outrage at the inevitable civil disorder that follows the previous stages.

Technology can be a fantastic enabler, but it can also kick you in the bollocks.

Again. Education and brain cells that are willing to be logical is the answer.

The thickest people I know on my socials are the ones who think and take part in this. Well, they are deleted now. But you get my point.

According to a lad at work, its just mostly people protesting, he did admit that there were some thugs interlaced with them but mostly just peaceful protesting! :emoticon-0138-think

Another night of unrest has begun in the Sunderland City Centre area as a number of youths are reported to have already damaged a number of business premises in the city and surrounding area.

Some businesses have locked staff in and put metal shutters down for their own safety

Police are in attendance

We know there will always be people who will defend something. Now I’m not a Sunderland lad, but kudos to those who volunteered to clean up this morning, I wonder how many citizens will follow suit in the coming days in other areas. There are far more good people than arseholes and the people of Sunderland have shown how it should be. Will the clear up make the news as much as that as the protests? No they won’t, hence the negative attitude from others outside of the area. Well done to the true genuine people of Sunderland.
Now let Northumbrias finest give the rioters a taste of baton, like the good old days.

The thick ****ers have smashed Hayes travel shop. A North East company set up by a local family. Absolute idiots.

Well hopefully I’ll be in town tomorrow to ensure those wanting a peaceful reflection at the Minster can do freely at 4pm. Flights permitting.

We're all suffering because of these events, my life has been affected and I'm having to justify Sunderland to people.

The death of these poor little children is horrendous and care needs to be taken in whatever accusations are made.

I've no idea what you're saying, alcoauth, but I'm sure it's not just a cheap dig ...

... what is it you're saying?

They need a good kicking. Horrible little bastards

If this continues I've absolutely no doubt that the decent people, of Sunderland, will be out.

They vastly outnumber the imbeciles wrecking their own town and will batter them as they deserve.

The people, of Sunderland, have tolerated the mines and yards closing, without an uprising ,,,

... but they won't put up with the scum of the area thinking they can represent them.

If that happens they'll be begging for the polis to protect them.

It’s the way of society at the minute. Think they can do what the want without reactions

They'll be in for a shock.

People are sick of idiots with balaclavas riding bikes up the street at midnight ...

... they daren't go out alone to confront them despite their pride.

But if there's a spark, and someone to mobilise them, they'll be out there and batter these wasters.

I've seen it happen in the village I grew up in, nearly sixty years ago, and the memory will never leave me.
