What the hells causing all this? Been away for a couple of weeks so not seeing news or anything and funnily enough, getting headline news off a football forum isn’t recommended.

you get saffs view, brb’s view, suckys view then fosse popping up reminding everyone Leicester once upon a time won something <laugh>

The Welsh.

Some Welsh lad stabbed a load of young girls and now everyone is smashing city centres up in England.

They should just invade Wales.

Is that what it’s all about though? Wtf had that got to do with the EDL?

Nowt mate. It’s just a bandwagon to jump on.

The left wing done it the other week with the police when them lads were attacking them in an airport.

The right wing are using the fact that a black kid stabbed the young girls as an excuse to vent their racism and riot.

I do worry that the EDL and their thugs are over shadowing the real concern, that of knife crime, apart from stop and searches, what else are our politicians on all sides of the house promising to do, to sort all this out. One night Southport violence, the next lunatics in Southend running around with machetes, and all Starmer could shout was far right..ok I get that, but Sir Keir have you not noticed the lunatics running loose in our capital city and other UK towns with big fook off knives. If we so much get anything like another Southport stabber, then the boiling pot is going to tip over.

Just made a similar point on our board. Categorising this entire thing under 'far right extremism' is a dangerous way to go imo and will actually push more people towards these groups.

Of course they're the primary instigators of the violence and so forth but that doesn't automatically equate to everyone out on the streets being part of and agreeing with that.

Just looking at the two protest groups in Nottingham, peaceful stand off at the mo, with a thin blue line between them. Looking along the line of coppers, some of them are but wee kids who won't stand a chance if this kicks-off. I think if it turns nasty, I'd advice them coppers just to disappear and let them get on with it, it aint worth getting put in hospital for.

Very much so Libby - the false narrative that the Southport killer was 'fresh off the boat' lit a fuse that was already there and subject to growing sparks ... ordinary people, everyday reasonable people, are now voicing concerns - people happy enough to accept (legal) immigrants from anywhere ... but with the necessary proviso that, wherever you come from and whatever your race, creed, culture or religion - you accept that you are coming to a modern, western, predominantly secular, liberal country where you both respect and abide by the laws, principles and tolerances of these lands - and if those are not for you, don't come ... or, if you're here already and can't do that, just pull up sticks and go to some country where you can ...

... and that is all ...

Very well said and I agree with every word.

In all honesty for this to happen should tell everyone with a brain how serious this now is.

Anyone who thinks this hasn't been bubbling under the surface and been coming for years hasn't been paying attention quite frankly.

Never thought I’d see the day that the Irish and Brits come together over there. If politicians ignore that then they’ll need to understand what is coming if nothing changes.

Any major events, civil war, people being killed won’t happen over here. That’s where it will start.

Every time I go to the NE I’m convinced there are people whose only tops are replica shirts. Seems to be an entirely Newcastle and Sunderland phenomenon. Ditto on holiday in Spain but then I’d include Celtic.

That's what happens when you go to the NE for QPR matches ...

... people tend to wear their football colours <laugh>

Seriously, the way Newcastle fans always wear their colours is a standing joke for Sunderland, we rarely do it on non-match days.

This was today, at the Sunderland game in Bradford, and there were others ...

Definitely see a disproportionate number of Sunderland tops on holiday and any adult wearing a replica top at a match needs their laptop checking. Twice if they get a player’s name on the back.
