But tbf it does make a mockery of the whole argument that it’s difficult to sign strikers. Hopefully a Mendy announcement this afternoon :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Its difficult to sign quality strikers, who knows how good the strikers that have been signed by other teams will do

We signed 4 strikers last yr so its easy to sign strikers - signing quality ones is the challenge

I am wondering if we even bother playing with a 10 this season. The squad seems more aligned to a 433 with two number 8s as it stands. To me anyway.

Cirkin and Hume as full backs with licence to give us width. One goes at a time and the other makes it a back 3. Alese, Huggins, Pemebele as options.

Neil as the pivot. If we want to play with a double pivot I would like to see Rigg given the nod. Same if Neil is out, let Rigg play in there.

Jobe/Rigg/Browne/Ekwah for the 2 8 roles.

Clarke, Mundle, Roberts, Poveda, Ba, Rusyn for the 2 wide roles. Arguably can sell one of those. If Clarke doesnt go I would probably sell Rusyn.

Would we keep Adil in as a bit of a wild card, somebody who give us a genuine 10 should we want to mix it up? No problem if so.
Played without a 9 for long enough so why not try without a 10

tbf mate it's only like that because we signed strikers with no senior experience or goals at all, even a striker who has played 50+ games and scores about 10 or more a season would work well if they fit the style

"scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists last season and was even amongst the players who provided the most key passes in Europe according to wyscout"

I enjoyed the youtube video on there and can see why he did lots of key passes but only had 5 assists. Put a few on a plate.

Like the look of him, seems to favour the left half space so would probably be a Jobe backup and a Aouchiche/Ekwah replacement. Good data as well, which to me looks transferable to the championship. Wouldn't want us to sign him on top of what we already have though.

Looks canny. A bit more direct than AA and can beat a man.

still a young lad but is pretty much what i would look for in a 'playmaker'...turns DM into AM easy, knows where his pass is going, knows when to pass (notice those times he holds off just for a split second) looking left and right when running with the ball looking for movement, able to beat a man/make sure he wins the ball.

of course i bet there are probably twice as many clips showing him being dire but i like what i see there...will need a striker/runner for him to be fully effective imho.

Don't understand why weren't back in for him, especially as he's free when last summer we would have had to pay a fee. It's almost like our recruitment team don't like it if a player decides to go elsewhere. Same as Rudoni.

Depends on reasons really. It might become evident in negotiations that someone won’t fit, Keane had a few stories about that. It’s also possible that some players have agreed to sign then messed us around which would be a possible indication of attitude etc.
