If we got 2.5 million for Sinclair then Jude must be worth 10 if based on contributions to last season
As I recall the various summaries from when the last Accounts were issued, last season was supposed to be the difficult one in regard to the rolling FFP, this upcoming season was expected to be less tight. As I remember this was mainly due to the increased income from the new TV deal from this coming season, also cost savings from quitting ourselves of higher earners and not spending much on players last season. We may have received some add-ons from Eze, last season or this. The speculation seems to be we got more for Armstrong than we've paid for Cellar. I doubt we'll be spending a lot more though this window without selling first, unless Eze is sold.
Just focussing, for a moment, on this part of the bigger picture: the profit on Armstrong's transfer can be taken immediately and the transfer cost of Celar will be spread over the life of his contract.
Apparently we are signing Gianluca Fabrotta, 25 year old left back/left wing back from Juventus. Been out on loan to decent Italian teams for most of his career. Depends on us offloading Paal, apparently. On recent performances offloading Paal would be a good idea.
Sounds decent...hope he can put a cross in though! QPR one step away from completing permanent signing of Juventus defender ByPeter Young JUL 30, 2024 19:43 please log in to view this image Championship side Queens Park Rangers are one step away from completing a permanent deal with Juventus for lesser-seen defender Gianluca Frabotta, according to updates on Tuesday evening. QPR closing in on deal with Juventus for Frabotta QPR are set to announce the signing of the 25-year-old left back once they have finalised an exit for current starter Kenneth Paal. Frabotta’s representatives are now in London to formalise the final details of a contract. He is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Loftus Road, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The player is into the final two years of his contract with Juventus, which is set to expire in June 2026. Frabotta has spent the past season on loan in Serie B with Bari, where he made 22 appearances in the league. He also spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan in the second division, helping Frosinone to secure promotion to Serie A. He originally joined Juve from Bologna in 2019, originally intended for the U23 squad. He would then go on to make his senior debut almost exactly a year later, turning out in a 3-1 Serie A loss to Roma under Andrea Pirlo. That would be a mega signing, he's quality. Can't see it personally , but a loan deal would be a right result !
"Lesser-seen defender Gianluca Frabotta" was my impression on reading what he'd been doing the last few years too.
Paal splits opinion and I’m not a fan myself but he is pretty much always available. This is the sort of player we should be taking a chance on but it’s a risk to throw a guy into the rough and tumble of our **** league after years playing part-time in Serie B having a lovely time. But he’s probably the next Maldini. Get him in.
If we release Paal where are our goals gonna come from Joint third top scorer last season with a mighty 4 goals!
JRS from Palace would be some coup. May have legs as they are close to signing the ex watford winger, Sarr. Sadly JRS can have his pick of any low end Prem side or Championship or low end Prem side. Anyway about this centre forward. We actually don't have one, worthy of the name, as LD/MF and Kholli are not more than 8 goals a season players.
Wish we could wind back the clock ..................... He still scored 14 last season. Good ole Charlie. Yes they do but not a huge amount. Mainly to cover travelling expenses, time off work etc. There is normally a bit more on top depending how generous the club's sponsors are. Clubs at this level and lower cannot compete or hope to survive without good sponsorship. Of course there is some income from gate receipts which goes towards the running costs, match officials are not cheap these days let alone the upkeep of the ground. But I'm certain Charlie will add a few tho the gate numbers. Good luck to him, wish him well.
I thought when he left us, was because his knees were stuffed but he’s had a few clubs since then. Good luck to him.
