Nadal and Alcaraz will be worried.

Having looked at the doubles teams I think one of the specialist doubles teams will win the gold, rather than 2 good singles players paired together.

No idea if odds become available nearer the time but if they did I would have a bet on Mektic and Pavic for Croatia, Krawietz and Puetz for Germany and Bolelli and Vavassori for Italy. All the well known singles players being involved will hopefully take up the top of the market and allow for good odds for the unknown doubles players

Alcaraz and Nadal win their first round match in the doubles, beat Argentina’s Gonzalez and Molteni who are a well established doubles team, good win.

Rain all day in France so not many matches played, got a lot of catching up to do already.

The day we’ve all been waiting for, Sir Andrew Barron Murray starting out today taking part in his last ever tournament, can he end his wonderful career with another olympic medal??

COME ON ANDYYYYYYYY

They were 9-4 down in the match tiebreak, save 5 match points and won 7 points in a row to win 11-9.

Scenes.

Next opponents will be either Gille/Vliegen of Belgium or Fils/Humbert of France. Gille and Vliegen are doubles specialists and Fils and Humbert are both top 20 singles players.

Be tough playing a French team in Paris, the crowds at Roland Garros are, lets say “very supportive” of their own players

For ****s sake Murray is delaying his retirement yet again. Sad to see really. He should have stuck to his retirement in 2019.

Will play Gille/Vliegen, another very winnable match.

Lets go Andy!!

A lot of English losers being put out the tennis in recent days, Evans and Draper both dumped out in singles, Salisbury/Skupski beat in the doubles.

British tennis relying on Sir Andy as per.
