I hope he’s a success, I’m very glad we have moved away from the pattern championship clubs have started to go down through hiring managers intending on playing the Pep way

Twt if it proves the correct decision, but there's a distinct lack of class and grace from some. It's as if they want him to fail to prove their own subjective opinion right.

Even if you're glad he's gone doesn't prevent you wishing him well for the future.

Bit sad really.

Why would he? There’s no reason to think that
It was a light-hearted remark but Strasbourg are Chelsea’s sister club, whatever that means. He might not want it but you’d have thought he’d be in the mix if he’s doing well and if Chelsea are looking for someone.

Significant issues?.... He didn't deliver what his boss wanted after being given the tools and backing to do so, so he was moved on. It's no different to any job. He's now found an employer who will be happy with his style of play etc so he'll be absolutely fine
Thanks. I don’t agree with you. But as it’s been done to death already, I’m not going over that ground again.

EDIT: PLT said it well for me, I hadn’t read his post when I replied.

I really find the style of football he and many other young English coaches are insisting on playing at clubs that can’t afford to buy the players that can do it to be a real shadow over the modern game. It’s all about coaching the moments that get us off our seats out of players games. Slow defensive football that takes all the chaos out of the game. Bielsa made a great point at the Copa America about the way the game is going and what it means for the average spectator.
I really enjoyed the football last season, a handful of matches excepted. We are all different I guess!

I think it's a very smart move for / by him.
It's a great chance for him to build his experience and reputation, and with almost guaranteed inflow of talent for him to work with.
Maybe a pity things didn't happen the other way round, meaning pity he didn't get this gig first, then come to us with a couple of seasons under his belt.

Getting us relegated pitifully, and getting dicked 8-0 had a lot to do with that, plus his attitude in the media was toxic. Didn't stop me wishing him well when he finally left though.
I'm sure every manager that ever was encourages their players to be brave.

Apart from maybe Terry D circa 1992-96 and Grunt McCunt in the latter part of the 19/20 season, obvs.

He did come across a grunting **** in most of his interviews, treating fans and media with contempt. And he did take us on a slide comparable with Terry D. And guess what, he's ended up at a similar level.

If you consider winning a division we should never have been relegated to a success and consider taking a club from a relegation scrap to mid table then 7th a failure, then you have a different idea of success to me.

But then your idea of debate boils down to chucking insults at others with no substance, so you do you.

Just pointing out you’re a hypocritical ****

There's nothing hypocritical about stating that if I can wish McCann well for the future, then others can afford the same grace to someone far more successful in his time at the club both as player and manager.

You chucking insults isn't gonna change that.

Grunt mcunt is wishing him well!

If he hadn't come across a ****, I wouldn't have called him out for it.

Can see why you felt some sort of affiliation to him though.

Very classy
Years later still calling him it
The only **** is you

I haven't called him that for years. You dragged up a post from years ago.

Whether he's worked on his media skills since I've absolutely no idea, but suspect he's had to.

But that's what you do isn't it? Manufacture an argument if you can't win.
