It never surprises me when we hold on to players that don't contribute too much to the overall future of BCFC and when I look back it would appear that our history is cluttered with instances where we should have acted earlier to move some players elsewhere. Massengo was a classic for me as we spent way outside our normal comfort zone and essentially got nothing in return other than mediocrity and lack of goals. What's the deal with Mehmeti as I see lot's of tricks and turns with little or no return on investment much the same as HNM, so are we going to spend more time and money hoping we can pick up another cheap player to boost the defaulter's output? Surely with the vast sums of money that either player may bring in to balance the books we could rebuild in the true sense of the word and not phaff around any longer hoping that some miracle may happen to suddenly make them superstars.
I know we have been busy going about our business signing up new players but is there really anything that has improved our squad, other than a few tweaks here and there that may or may not improve our lot in life? Our rebuilds have rarely changed our fortunes over the years and honestly I still see the same old stuff and rhetoric being bandied about but as far as the meat and potatoes they have been replaced with tofu and avocado, and that doesn't get my taste buds throbbing.
