Have you read all 922 pages? Are The Illuminati involved?
This is not conspiracy theory, these are serious policy proposals by people who have been advisers to Trump in the past and who would take up senior positions in the next Trump government. Trump is distancing himself from it at this stage, but that's most likely to avoid difficult questions. The people behind the proposals are unconcerned by Trump's current apparent coolness to them because they know that he is highly likely to be on board once back in the White House.

The manifesto is not a conspiracy theory, there’s nothing secret about it. Your interpretation of what could happen is conjecture though (at the moment). Most of the BBC summary would seem in line with hard core social (as opposed to fiscal) Republican Conservatism. If they win the Presidency and both houses of the legislature surely it’s their prerogative to implement their (hideous) programme? Just like Labour has carte blanche to get more radical with its giant majority (in seats, not votes), even though it didn’t tell us it would get radical at all pre election. Isn’t this what liberal representative democracy is all about?

I added a reference to Peter Thiel who I do find weird. There’s an article about him in the Sunday Times today.

Yeah, I get the comparison to Starmer's pre-election reticence, but then Starmer being a little bit more of a leftie in government than he let on he was going to be is not quite the same as a new Trump administration (possibly) implementing an horrendous far right agenda and dismantling democratic processes altogether.

I find the far right threat in the US genuinely scary. Kevin Roberts, one of Heritage Foundation's leading figures, said recently that the country is in the midst of a 'second American Revolution' and that it will be bloodless 'if the left allows it to be'.

Is that the bloke that got kiwi citizenship in record time

If my last name was Thiel I simply wouldn’t name my son Peter. Would have been bullied to within an inch of his life at any British school.

Biden gives up. Probably too late to change the outcome of the election, but hopefully will save him ongoing embarrassment and stress.
Good. For him, his family and for the hopes of beating Trump. A Harris and Buttigieg ticket would cover the female, black and gay demographics. That would just leave the male, racist homophobes. Hmm.

Sadly, I don’t think Harris has been in any way impressive as VP. On the basis of no knowledge I suspect that the Democrat leadership whoever the **** they are, have concluded that Trump will win whatever this time and best not taint a serious contender in 2028 with a loss this time out. Harris was given the poisonous brief of reducing illegal immigration, Trumps special subject, and failed miserably. Sitting duck.**

Of course, if your Project 25 agenda and Trump’s ego come into play, and not only Trump but both Houses are pro Trump Republican, they could over turn Amendment 22 to the US constitution, which restricts presidents to 2 terms (or ten years if they have initially inherited the position from a dead or dumped president). FDR was elected (allegedly reluctantly) 4 times, which led to the amendment. Apparently before him it was just a tradition that no one went more than twice, based on Washington retiring after two terms.

Here endeth the history lesson.

Weird scenes inside the goldmine.*

* multiple points for identifying the source of this line. Oddly appropriate in current circumstances.

** on reflection this is probably wrong. If defeat is inevitable they should have let Biden take it to minimise collateral damage.

Bravo, it’s a line from the Doors’ uber pretentious but rather good pseudo poetry The End. 73.615 points awarded.
Mass immigration sank Biden. It sank the Tories. It'll sink Harris, and very probably Starmer. There's a lesson here....
I think it’s a little more complicated than that, but obviously not in your head. Fill your boots.

Mrs SM went to a Doors tribute night last night, so we'd been listening to his stuff today, although I knew that line anyway :emoticon-0148-yes:

I prefer Celebration of the Lizard as their "pseudo-poetry" goes myself

Met up with our short arse mate before the game yesterday. He was drinking some berry flavoured cider concoction but was otherwise on good form and his sons were great value. Strolls turned up as well, which obviously wasn’t ideal…..

Of course it’s more complicated, but the major common factor is uncontrolled immigration. I know it’s hard for liberals to acknowledge
