http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/team-news-291111.html? This game will present a real test of our squad, as it's a mixed bag of team news Looks like Pav and GDS may be out, while Luka is back, and I assume Corluka is too.
I think we have the squad to compete on atleast 2 fronts this season but league definitely takes a priority. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As we showed last year, yes we can compete on 2 fronts. Difference being this year the 1st team will play 2 games a week at the back end of the season instead of the beginning, thats why we blew out last season imo.
Tomorrow's game isn't a gimme so I'd like to see Luka play. If we can get a couple of goals ahead we could bring him off after an hour. Up front is worrying, if VDV isn't going to be fit for Saturday, do we play JD tomorrow and risk having only Ade from our top 3 strikers? Carlo Corluka Gallas Bassong Townsend Carroll Livermore Modric/Sandro Pienaar Falque Defoe
It's a tricky one HD, here's my guess Gomes Corluka Gallas Bassong Townsend Pienaar Livermore Sandro Carroll GDS/Modric/Kane Defoe
I'd really like to see us make a real go of this one. Pick Modric and Sandro in the middle and try to dominate possession.
Here's a preview that has some useful information on the greek's recent form http://www.thfc1882.com/2011/11/29/match-preview-tottenham-hotspur-v-paok/?
Are Modric and Adebayor included in the nominated squad for the EL? VDV definitely isn't but I don't know about the others.
Noticed a lot of posters don't have Kane in the side. Has he slipped down the pecking order for some reason?
As we need a win, he's the least trusted striker we have available - the penalty miss against Hearts is the most recent thing of note he's done, after all.
http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2012/clubs/club=1652/index.html Adebayor's in the squad. Other players that are in it, but haven't featured include King, Dawson, Huddlestone, Parker, Kranjcar and Pavlyuchenko, despite the Russian frequently being on the pitch for Europa League games.
Dawson, Huddlestone and Kranjcar all played against Hearts - whilst Pav has played every group game, with goals against Shamrock and Rubin.
I was being sarcastic about Pavlyuchenko, as he's put in a series of performances that can best be described as uncaring. I was using the stats from UEFA.com for the others, which I really should've known better than to have done, in all honesty. Huddlestone's pass for Bale's goal at Hearts was fantastic, now that I think about it.
Wow. I missed that. How did I miss that? The FA Cup is seeded now? That's terrible. How is it seeded?
